I Just watched the Most inspirational documentary show on HBO titled Sing your Song ... Life story of this amazing man Harry Belefonte . This man was not afraid to shake things up as an Awesome Artist a Civil rights activist , Humanitarian, Political activist never giving up Hope for mankind... We are the world keep Paying it Forward everyone !! it matters it really does. <3
All right. I give up. Will someone out there please help me. I've followed this consummate artists career, beginning when he was married to Marguerite Byrd, mother to Adrienne and Shari. Then he married Dunham dancer, Julie Anne Robinson, mother to David and Gina. Now, here comes the place where I need help. Just who is this Pamela Frank and where does she come in? Wiki's of no help at all!!!
@ccaammiiittoo1 I just watched an HBO special about Mr. Harry Belefonte. Title I believe is Sing your song a Must watch very inspiring. at the end he spoke of his 3rd wife I believe this is her Pamela frank she was/is a famous photographer that has taken many photos where Harry has traveled Africa & such...Hope this helps :D
@say3timesbeetlejuice Thank you. But those of us who've followed his brilliant career still wonder (no disrespect for Ms. Frank) what became of Julie Anne Robinson, perhaps the only lead caucasian dancer with the Katharine Dunham Dance Troupe for years. Robinson is as important to us as Belafonte is since she weathered many of storm with him as Ms. Belafonte. So she can't be summarily dismissed. When did they divorce and why? And where is Miss Robinson now?
@greasedslip uh no haha im talking about the chick who did harry wrong in this song lol!!! listening to this made me mad! this song is way to cheerful and catchy to fully express the horridness of this so called matilda!
Matilda agarró mi dinero y se fue a Venezuela (Matilda took get my money and ran to Venezuela) Tremendo musico y cantante además es mejor representante de la Musica del caribe.
@sauerbua age doesn't matter, i liked HB's calypso stuff since i was 5 or 6... and it still makes me smile... maybe your friends just felt happy but don't dare to admit? ... or maybe you have the wrong friends! ;-) btw... 'i do adore her' is also heart warming and uplifting
This song must be from Trinidad and Tobago because of its reference to Venezuela...from where else would Matilda be able to run off to Venezuela? My teacher/band leader has been trying to get us to play this song for years in our steel pan band...glad I could finally hear the original.
Every time I hear Harry B. it reminds me of my grandparents and how they used to throw cocktail parties with their friends from church and get all wasted and dance around the house.
There's a song in Jamaica to this tune called "Buy A Tramcar" about a country man who saw a tramcar in Kingston and bought one from a con man (or "ginnal" as we call them).
Miss Lou also used to sing "Happy Birthday" to this tune on the children's show "Ring Ding"
I never known my father....I'm 50 now....and I always dreamt that if i was to find him.....it would be Harry.....and I would live Happy ever after....lol....
Wait a minute..did he just say "Women over 40" at 2:21?
