actually, they're not to far off from each other... both are intel core 2 duo's -- air might have less GHZ or somethin, but OSX vs Vista i dunno if its really noticeably worst ;)
Unfortunately you cant use OS/x on the Dell, but you can use Ubuntu Linux, which should make it cheaper in theory, but unfortunately it has to come with M$ crap, in terms of hardware and price, the Dell is better, in terms of style and OS, the Mac is better, but the best machine is always IBM.
well, lets just say ive easily installed both XP and Vista on the Air and get to choose between osx, vista, or xp when i boot up.. otherwise VMware rocks ass too, running xp/vista right inside of OSX so i dunno... the air can be easily converted into a kick ass slim xp or vista box by simply formatting the hard drive and installing like you would normally
ive got to agree that the ultra thinness of the Air is much much more sexy -- if you consider that you can install xp/vista as the native operating system, then you've basically got a kick ass slim PC... just cover up the apple logo or something lol
Yes but you can buy a Windows laptop for much less. And I would not cover the Apple logo, Apple is still the manufacturer of the hardware so it's like having an iPod and running it under Windows. Last, I'm not an Apple hater, if it was cheaper i'd buy Apple and run MacOs together with Windows
yeah, i mean the 99 center burger might not taste as good as the sirloin burger, but i basically said the xp/vista part in partial response to the other comments... kinda like tied them all together... i had PC all my life, i dont hate PC, i just noticed that i was carrying around a brick before a couple months ago...
i still love my vostro! no matter how out dated it may be!

Place them side by side and you'll notice where MacBook Air wins. Even close is thinner than the Dell open
