@willyhogg29 No. Not if it's non-commercial and fewer than I think 12 passengers. Of course, every state has it's own laws. DOT cops would be the ones who could tell you.
You're correct on the automatic transmission coming out in 1973 as 4- speed manuals were the norm before that in MCI's. No doubt the this bus was retrofitted with automatic. 1973 was the final year of production of the dash 7 and later that same year, the dash 8 was released.
It's a ripout atleast. Move on!
