No, X-2 was the worst game. 12 is actually a really good game and I like it, and from what I've seen so far, almost everyone that doesn't like it argues that it's because it plays itself, while in reality, you can turn the gambits off and do it all yourself.

I agree that X-2 was the worst game, but 12 isn't much better. In terms of graphics and gameplay, it beats the crap out of X-2, but 12's "storyline" was completely as lacking.

I love the battle system, but the focus on battles over actual story failed in the end. I didn't care about any of the characters, and there wasn't enough of a storyline to keep me even remotely interested. It was a struggle to finish off this game, just because there was no strong plot.

I'll give you that, storyline as far as character development goes is lacking, although I actually enjoy the whole countries at war plot, I find it a bit refreshing compared to the overly whored "big enemy tries to destroy the world" theme.

FF12 was a fun and interesting change to the battle system. (It's far from my favourite and still not perfected though). However the story wasn't nearly enough it didn't feel "Final Fantasy"ish it just wasn't that good. The LP system was annoying as well it was rather pointless and just wasn't needed. The characters weren't all that great as well. Lastly the abilities sucked and were over priced and the quickening system was broken. The battle system was the games only strong point.

The purpose of 12's story was to break away from the stereotypical mold of the series. The characters were extremely well written, you just have to pay severe attention. The LP system was to keep people from immediately equipping weak characters with the more powerful weapons early on. And how was the quickening system broken? Do explain that one. It was a game that made you WORK for your equipment. Then again, you're probably an FF7/Sephiroth fanboy

yeah. i liked ffxii. i thought it was the best one to date. many people at school said FF7 was the best and then I asked "have you played 12?" and they'll say "no" and then I said "exactly"

I believe if 12 had it's own title instead of Final fantasy, many would appreciate it more. Also, i think to many expected it to be like tactics.

If by "SquareEnix fans" you mean people like you, then good. They deserve a raw deal if they can't tell a good game from a hole in the ground. Just wave something shiny in front of them and they'll love it, no matter how flawed and craptacular the gameplay is.
