@tarandril95 It's a chatter. Cats do it when they see an animal they want to hunt but can't get to it (glass in the way, bug too high on the wall, etc). Means they're excited and frustrated.

There is a birds nest right outside a window in my apartment, and my cat wakes up in the morning when the birds start flying around and I wake up to this noise every morning at 5 or 6.

i've never heard a kitten do that. i know cats do that when they're excited about something that could be deemed as prey, but i've never gotten the chance to hear a kitten do it.

yeah cats have a gland in their ears that makes them sensitive to the calling sounds of birds for predatory reasons. cats usually make that chattery meow sound in response to that bird. xo

There is no moth. This was a video response to someone else's video where the cat made a similar sound when it saw a moth. But my lil' kitten is making that weird noise because of the chirpy birds :P
