The biggest gripe I have with American cars is how much they seem to start and discontinue brands. For instance, pontiac, oldsmobile, plymouth, and saturn. So really GM is the biggest offender here, but still, how can we be certain or not if one day we decide to buy a Dodge, or Chevy and they decide get rid of them and become strictly just GM and Chrysler?

Better suspension, aerodynamics technology, along with updated drivetrain technology. I'd almost bet that today's Dodge Challenger, Viper, Mustang, or whatever will easily out perform yesterday's! I see the new models just as close as you can get to classics without a classic, just revised!

@Desm0Rob A viper is also a different class of vehicle than a Mustang, Camaro, or Challenger. Power to weigth ratios, weight Bias and over all engineering are far Cry. Along with a price tag. If you went out and bought a 15k Mustang, and sunk 10k into it, your faster than a viper, and still 75k ahead of the guy who bought the Viper.

Vipers are still pretty cool though.

Out of all the vipers, including the new one, this is the only model I would own. I think it looks better than the new ones, and better than the older ones. (The older vipers were rather ugly.)
