This airfield is not where Tony does his testing. Some videos posted are not made by Nitroplanes. Tony and myself fly from the Whittier Narrows field. You can always tell from the sign that says don't fly over the gun range.
OT. The power plant you see in the background is NOT nuclear. It is a multi fuel facility owned by the Jacksonville Electric Authority. Since it is capable of using several different types of fuel, Jacksonville has one of the lowest electric rates in the country at ~ 0.11 cents per KWh. Just FYI.
I had not seen this video before now, but I now own the very plane you see in this video. Steve Betts gave it to me. I have flown it several times and it is a handful to fly. Just like the real plane it glides like a brick when you reduce the power to idle. Still, it looks great and is fun to fly. Thanks Steve!
PS: I also found the plane to be slightly tail heavy with the stock battery. I installed 1/4 oz of lead weight at the front of the battery box and it flew more stable.
Yes. Tail heavy is NOT a nice feature. It makes the plane stall easily, usually followed by an unrecoverable spin into the ground. It only took 1/4 oz to make this fly way better. Landings are somewhat fast due to lack of flaps on this plane. Check out the new 70mm F-4 at nitroplanes. It is a WAY better flying plane than this one.

EXCELLENT flying and clear video, especially the bright blue of the plane. Thanks for sharing it. Are you near Oceanside CA by any chance? Surroundings look familiar to me. S

Hahah you are so dumb. That is just steam you moron. Nuclear power plants don't emit pollution through their stacks.
lay3Rv2 1 year ago
@speedstakerguy what pollution...? that power plant is clean water vapor coming out of it.

i could be talkin out my arse but is tail heavy not a nice feature seeing as you don't get flaps to help with the landings?
