i'm not saying Lithgow isn't good in this film, cause he's a fantastic villain, it's just in my mind he'll always be Dick Solomon. And if I see this the closest I get to really seeing him as a villain is imagining Evil Dick from the end of series 1 of 3rd Rock
It's funny how most critics in 1993 conveniently forgot to mention just how sadistically violent this movie is. You neglected, however, to include the long, brutal preambles to Kynette's icicle impaling and Delmar's being blown off that cliff after getting knifed (in gruesome close-up, of course) in the leg. (It's practically violence as pornography, my friends.) That opening sequence sure was great, though.

this film is hardcore. The only flaw would be the helicopter explosion at the end. Would it even have any petrol in it?
