Ok so just to make sure the only way i could live in japan is if Im an english teacher or a student. And the only way for me to live in japan as a resident is if i take a japanese language test or if im married, right? I want to make sure because Im a high school senior and I want to live in japan in the future.
when im done with college i hope to find a job in japan as a chef and live there...any tips on how to make this possible? is there like a website or something i can look for jobs in japan from the u.s.?
@jct200 You need a college degree or experience to get a visa to work in Japan, no matter what you wish to do. The only websites that have jobs to get into Japan are for English teachers or college grads. Japan has a shrinking economy, you will also have to be fluent in Japanese. But right now is probably the worst time to consider a career move to Japan and its very expensive, why do u want to move there?
@jct200 the radiation that is in the food supply will last quite a bit longer. However the immigration system will change ina year to allow college graduates with a BA that speak some Japanese to apply for a visa without a sponsor.
uhm im want to move in japan and i want to study college in there so what do i need to do and i dont have a bachelor's degree i want to start my college years in japan is that possible??
how would you take a minor to japan with you, (as a gaurdian) I have to kids who I take care of. I have only completed 3 years of college though (in traveling affairs) would that be possible?
@ChrisNolandTV yeah, I did some more research, and I'm gonna be going in a few years, I just need to plan ahead, also the two minors I was talking about, there gonna be 16, so the highschool thing is optional right, or would they have to take it? idk, but thanks :)
I plan on moving to Japan. I don't have a certificate thingamajig or a visa or a degree or anything (not done with high school yet), but I have a deep love of japanese culture (manga and anime). I plan on showing up to the immigration office wearing my Naruto headband, and that will show them how much I respect and admire their culture, so I won't be one of those BAKA GAIJIN who just say "I really love japan". i get picked on for cosplaying at school so im basically a refugee, I can't wait!
@emptybookreader Once I get to Japan I hope you never come to MY future country (Japan) because I'll call the police and you'll be arrested for persecution, and they don't take kindly to baka gaijin like you so you better have a good lawyer. And they aren't like american cops, either. Nightstick? Hah, try resisting a cop who has a fucking KATANA that can slice through metal easily.
@gfdriver Japan will never be your country, that is just culturally reality you are gonna face at some point. The police are not coming for petty foreign matters especially over the internet. The police mainly give directions to lost people, there is little crime here. They do not have a Katana.... Going to court in Japan is a bad idea. People do not sue here. you suing someone has to involve something on paper for proof and no matter what both parties pay the legal fees...
@gfdriver first of all, ur not japanese nor will ever become one. second ur so damn stupid i cant tell if ur joking or not. and im not persecuting u im just calling u a weeaboo fag. btw u cant get arrested for that... even if i do go to japan what are u going to tell them? yeah this guy on youtube called me a faggot. they wont do shit. and the police there dont have katana. so if i had a gun what would a sword do? it amazes me how idiotic people can be
Question: You say that a good option is becoming an English teacher, but I'm currently studying a 4-year college degree that doesn't have anything to do with it.
My question is: do you need to have, like, a bachelor's degree in English teaching to teach?
I also know Spanish. >.< But I'll be moving when a finish my Bach. Degree (I'm just starting, meaning I have 3 more years to further learn my Japanese).
Where did u first get informed about the visa information? I have absolutely no idea of what I have to do paperwork-wise.
@VolgoRussianmark nope, it can be a bachelors in anything ( Engineering, medicine, arts, whatever) As long as English is your first, or one of your first, language. However, it does give you a leg up if you have a bachelors in something relevant like, English , East-Asian Studies or in Teaching English as a Second Language (like me ^^)
OMG!!! You have ALL of that space for $600 a month in Aspen a place like that is like $800-1200 a month with or with out utilities!!! That's super AMAZING!!!!
To add a little bit of information, don't rely to heavily on this I'm only in high school, but what he was talking about to become a Japanese citizen is a process called naturalization, and if I'm remembering correctly, what you have to do to naturalize for over 5 years, be able to hold a conversation for an hour in Japanese, fill out a lot of paper work, and you have to drop all other citizenships, there is some more I can't remember right away like you have to take up a Japanese name.
@Z39hyrr Maybe you should research it. Because, you dont need to change your name. The Japanese test is a standardized JLPT test number and you have to have lived in Japan for 5 years or longer without any breaks in your visa. The giving up of your other citizenships is asked of you but not everyone does it..
Dude, you are a Major Fag. What the fuck is up with the fucking queer make up and the gay jewelry? if you aer a fag get the fuck out of the Japan and go back to west hollywood you cocksuker. Japan does not need any more americans who like to get shit on their dicks. I hope you get Aids and die. We don't want you here. Leave Japan Now, Faggot.
@ChrisNolandTV please answer my question. so im 15 now soon 16 and i want to go to japan as soon as possible, would it be possible for me to go to japan for college at 18? btw i no your thinking that i just wanna go there for anime lol but thats not true.
@TheCrispism You can apply for college in Japan but you will have to pay for it. There is one in Tokyo that teaches in English, its really expensive and there are others but you would need to know Japanese. You would then be placed on a student visa upon your acceptance you may need to have community college prior it would depend on your GPA etc. Consult Temple Japan , Waseda or Sophia universities
@ChrisNolandTV thanks for the quick answer. I have another question : If i learned pretty good japanese online but never like learned it in school or anything (my school dosnt offer japanese as second language) would i still be able to go japanese college ?
@fallencrap6 im not an english teacher actually. marriage is difficult no matter what but will it pass the paperwork? what do u think? it depends on how closely you are related to your relatives are they mother or father or what?
@fallencrap6 in this economy you can barely get a job as an English teacher. Language school you learn Language, Japanese or English..... You cannot jsut move here and get a job its not an open country like that
@mintico i want to pick Japanese because i want to be an english teacher and there are about 65,000 American english teachers in japan who live in normal houses on a good income so... yeah (p.s. i jumped on my pogo stick 1,022 times!!!!!)
@Davrosrulesyo there are quite a lot of unemployed ones with more experience here than you that will get hired over you because they have lived here and already have a visa. Teaching English here is like working at macdonalds. it does make a great life..
let me correct ur mistake ChrisNolandTV u said ur rent is like 5600 yen, its not even $100 my friend. 1 USD is 82 yen so 5600/82 = 68ish USD. there must be a mistake, are u trying to say 56000 instead?
for some people who live in japan because of their work and stuff its ok and fine. but there are lots of young people nowadays that want to live in japan because they are too into japanese culture. they think living in japan is cool. well it is cool but tokyo is damm expensive, ur life there will be miserable unless u have high job position. So all those young people who moved to japan just because they want to be"japanese" u guys are a fool.
even though i'm twelve, i have dual-citizenship for the U.S. and Japan. I'm forced to pick at 21 and i think i'm going to pick japanese and move there for a while. (or ever!!)
@Davrosrulesyo dude a word of advise, u should really really pick the US citizenship. seriously US citizenship is #1 on demand. In US u can get higher income and you wont get too stressed. Japan is very expensive and fast pace country. when u work ur boss will beat ur head if u made mistake and ur boss' demands is very high. and since japan is sooo damm expensive u will probably stay in small cramp apt unless u have a nice job. So u shld stay in US and visit jpn just for holiday.
@1pingfasily I was tired of New York after many years and was a real estate Agent there. I wanted to see the world, not the office building across the street.
@Ido013 you have to kinda carry the trash around until u can find a proper bin and there are separate bins for plastic bottles, cans, burnable waste, non-burnable etc. I can lock my room and the utilities are included.
@Ido013 lol When he said he paid 5700 yen I almost choked. That would be like giving it away for free. When he said it's about $600 then I realized he forgot a zero.
@ChrisNolandTV Yeah, I can't convince myself to move to Tokyo. As much as I love visiting there, I don't think I could put up with any part of the city for too long. I wouldn't mind living close enough to make trips there convenient but sadly my current job ended up taking me pretty much as far away as possible.
Ok so just to make sure the only way i could live in japan is if Im an english teacher or a student.
