Thus why the movie begins with a fairly sound family structure that crumbles as time goes on. It's also about overcoming lies and deception and pain and betrayal in order to be able to love again. Tracey is obviously a youth in a lot of pain. This shows just how shocking her way of coping is.

SPOILER: ...bedroom and lay down. Tracey holds Mel's hand and they fall asleep next to each other. Tracey awakens the next morning. Next thing we see is Tracey spinning extremely fast on the marry go round (?) that her and Evie were on a couple weeks before when they took acid and ran through the sprinklers. She goes faster and faster and screams at the top of her lungs. THE END.
SPOILER: ...Evie again. When they leave Mel comes to realization that her daughter needs her whether she likes it or not. She hugs Tracey tight while Tracey yelps and cries "You don't love me. Let go." and Mel says "I love you and your brother more than anything in the world.". Tracey tries desperately to break free from Mel's hug to the point where she ends up on the kitchen floor where Mel comforts her and kisses the cuts on her wrist. Tracey eventually gives in and they move to Tracey's...
SPOILER: ..."cunt". Melanie is desperately trying not to believe the things she's hearing. She defends Tracey throughout parts of the argument. Brooke takes measures into her own hands and grabs Tracey's arm, lifting up her sleeve and revealing the cuts to Mel. Mel goes into shock and almost collapses. Evie and Brooke and Evie finally leave without the truth ever being revealed, and Evie looking like the victim. Brooke claims they are moving far away and Tracey will never be seeing...
SPOILER: ...empties a box on the coffee table loaded with drugs. She claims they found it under her bed. Although...it's not Tracey's. We now realize that Evie has set Tracey up by stashing drugs under her bed to make her look like a bad kid. A verbal fight breaks out and Tracey confesses all the things shes done but begs her mom to believe that the box isn't hers. The fight moves into the kitchen and gets out of control when Brooke starts to call Tracey the bad influence and uses words such...
SPOILER: ...they're driving home, Tracey tries to say hi to her neighbors who ignore her. We realize now that everyone, even neighbors, know the chaos thats occurring in the Freeland home. Tracey walks inside to find Mel, Evie, and Brooke all sitting in the living room as if ready for an intervention. Tracey assumes she's in trouble so goes to the bathroom before sitting down and tries to escape through the bathroom window, which is locked. She comes back into the living room and Brooke...
SPOILER: After Evie finds out Mel isn't adopting her, she moves into the backyard and cries her eyes out. Tracey follows her to see if she's ok and all Evie does is look at her with the most evil look in her eyes as she cries. The next day at school Evie ignores Tracey and apparently tells the others in their group to do the same. Tracey then finds out she's being left back in the seventh grade. While walking home by herself, Mel's boyfriend pulls over to pick her up. While....

SPOILER: ...bedroom and lay down. Tracey holds Mel's hand and they fall asleep next to each other. Tracey awakens the next morning. Next thing we see is Tracey spinning extremely fast on the marry go round (?) that her and Evie were on a couple weeks before when they took acid and ran through the sprinklers.
