  • i just bought a casey hampton autographed football with display case for 50 bucks....with coa mike bbaker......now im skeptical...shit!

  • Tom you are awesome. What is your opinion on PAAS?

  • I wouldn't touch anything authenicated by anything other then PSA or JSA and especially if the certificate isn't on their websites. Any other company isn't trustworthy.

  • it would be nice to have a mantle auto, only problem is there is way to many fakes to want to even come close to touching one .. makes me sick

  • I really commend what you are doing with these videos. Were an active very large dealer on eBay right now and it makes us sick to see all these forgeries. It really is hurting our market.

  • @jillyes1 Thank you. We all have to do our part. I wish more people were involved in what we do. A lot of people are intimidated by "bad sellers." That will not be tolerated. You are right, it is killing the market. It's terrible.

  • @TomTresh2 -- you forgot Chris Morales authenticated some of these forgeries as did that wonderful Donald Frangipani.

  • Theres a seller on ebay that is counterfieting Mounted Memories certs and holograms, Steiner certs and holograms, Adrian Peterson Holograms, Favre certs and Holograms. They have been on ebay for 2 years under 3 differant user id's. We managed to have them removed 3 times only to come back again and again. Super_sportsmart, digitalsportsdeals, and meeklov. All the same seller and all a non registered user. See all the fakes hes sold in his feedback. What a nightmare!

  • About 2 years ago eBay actually pulled each GAI authenticated Mantle items off ebay. They said sellers were no longer allowed to post thoes items because an outside source told them they were not ligit. Since then they have trickeled back on ebay. I actually talked to Mike at GAI about thoes and he stated that he contacted the FBI before he authenticated thoes Mantle items. What a bogus company.

  • thanks for the heads up detective!gai is a scam

  • I bought an authenticated unopened wax pack graded by GAI. I'm guessing that hot packs are easier to spot though than fake autographs so I'm not so worried

  • I like when you point out fakes on auctions that are currently going, one day I might buy one of these fakes and send it to JSA or PSA just to prove a point, I'll leave the seller negative feedback if its fake.

  • TOM I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THE OTHER NEW GAI STUFF THAT IS FLOODING EBAY ASLO. BIG NAMES LIKE JETER, POSADA, ECT... THERE IS A TON OF PHOTO'S JERSEY'S, BALL'S..ALL GIA.. I GOT A JERSEY AND 2 PHOTO'S. LOOKED GOOD ON THE PIC'S, BUT WHEN I GOT THEM AND COMPARED THEM, THEY LOOK FAKE, BUT THEY HAVE A GIA CERT. HAS GIA JUST WENT TO CRAP TOO ? ALSO WHEN I WENT TO GLOBALS NEW SITE, THEY SAID WE NO LONGER DO AUTOGRAPH CERTS, SO HOW ARE NEW PHOTO'S AND NEW PLAYER'S AUTO'S GETTING CERTED BY GIA

  • @YANKDADDY10 You are right on the money with that. There is one seller who has sold over 100 Jeter autographed baseballs. All fake. Right now that seller has six more Jeter autographed photos up. All GAI authenticated. His Posada stuff is awful, too. Some people have made the hobby really ugly.

  • look up chase utley certified by gai. It makes me laugh how fake it is. This problem truely needs to be adressed

  • GAI Coa's from the old company could be getting forged now also. Especially if you can no longer go into the database and type in the serial number.

  • A Burczyk-Mantle photo just sold for $5 on a non ebay auction site. I really don't want to publicize the site so I won't name them.

It cost a lot of money to have Mickey sign, did Burczyk pay money to the owner of that photo so he could be the authenticator of record?? :):):).

Or did that seller have $0 invested in that Mantle photo so he could sell it for any price?

The Burczyk items are selling for tiny dollars. How could they pay for his authentication and pay Mantle for his autograph???

  • @incorrigiblebaseball That's a good point. In other words, it's possible the distributor (the source) literally got these for pennies on the dollar and is going to make a huge profit for whatever price they sell for. And with literally tens of thousands of these autographs out there "the source" is making a killing on the sales of these autographed photos.

  • The weird thing is that most authentication fees run about 75 dollars, yet a lot of these global authenticated photos sell for less. So what's the deal with that? Either the people who had them authenticated are losing money on them and trying to get what they can back out of their venture which didn't pan out as planned, or they made a volume bulk discount deal with the authenticator to bring the authentication price down to 20 bucks a pop or something like that to allow them to make a profit.

  • @travrosty Exactly, Travrosty, "what's the deal with that?"

  • Great video TOM! Thanks for being an advocate for the collector...

  • I don't like any of the third party authenticators PSA or JSA. They have very bad BBB grades and have passed fake autographs. It's not just EBAY!!!!, STAT, GAI, or Burczyk that are greedy it's the whole autograph hobby. So many so called authenticators and dealers are very negative just type in Autograph Alert.com and see what Steve koschal and Todd mueller say about PSA and JSA all negative. There has to be something done to solve this problem and it's time for another OPERATION BULLPEN.

  • Again great job tom, oh by the way Coaches corners got a sweet Daniel Boone Auto you should check out they even gave it a Book Value LOL. Also a couple of sweet Mel ott SUPER WHITE baseballs for sale i mean they look brand new. they could at least beat the baseballs up a bit to make them look older?

  • @Sicksportscards You're right. Coach's Commode has a Daniel Boone cut signature up this month. Incredible. Lee must have gotten the autograph himself.

  • I wanted to "Thank" everyone for their comments. This video was a long-time coming.

  • FANTASTIC FONZIE. Your best 2 videos back to back...You have really started to get to the heart of the matter now!!!! The Jeter stuff was bad, but THESE 2 subjects, the Burczyk and Global issues with the "Big Three" have been going on HARD for MONTHS. THANKS for being the voice of the People...AHAAHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEE

  • @fuddjcal Thanks, Fuddjcal. These last two videos were overdue but this was the right time to do them with the flood of junk hitting Ebay these past 90 days. And Ebay loves it!!

  • In my opinion GAI has always been JUNK and sold much much lower than others...i think the REAL autograph collectors know this and wouldnt touch anything authenticated by them...another good video Tom.

  • @RobMen9 Thank you, Rob.

  • The questionable mantle's always look like they are spelled Mautle.

  • Man you sure do your research, I'd like to see you on 60 Min

  • You nailed them on this one!!

Mike Baker should be asked if he authenticated this stuff. If he did not , then who did?

If he did, then why is he with the newly formed company??

  • @incorrigiblebaseball Good point. Is Mike Baker a authenticator or card grader? Maybe both? His name is on ALL of those GAI certs.
