Read my post again you'll see I said "some of those people's way." Some could be 1,000-maybe 20,000, hard to say. Some people affected live in under developed countries and had no means of being warned, but plenty of people had time and recieved the warnings, went out to watch their impending death not respect nature's wrath. The ones that ran to watch are worthy of a Darwin. The slower, less intelligent die-off. This video backs those claims up. Did I miss something? Reread my original.

regardless of where they live a lot of people had no idea what a tsunami was before this let alone the warning signs such as the tide coming too far and leaving to far out many were curious as to what was going on not expecting a tsunami i mean really even if you saw a huge wave on the horizon or closer you'd never expect it to be that huge at the shore or come in that far

Not stupid at all. Although very fast moving, at sea the tsunami is only a foot or two high. It's not until it approaches the shore that it slows and rises so high. If you were far enough out you might not even know there was a tsunami.

I Nearly Drowned On Holiday and those waves were tiny conpared to these waves,

Never seen this video before, lucky people filming were high up, does not look as bad as some of the other videos. A tsunami is not necessarily a big wave. It is more of a huge amount of water being displaced into earth. People think of tsunamis as tall waves, but that is not the case. Tsunamis go unnoticed in the sea because their height is not unnatural. The WAVELENGTH of a tsunamis, on the other hand is enormous.
