@my73737373 I think there is off of the balance connector but I don't know how. I'll just say I wouldn't recommend trying to do it as you could easily ruin a battery or worse...
thanks for the fast response ... awhile ago i called associated and asked if a voltage protector like the one specktrum uses would benifit my stock bl sc10 rtr... they said no... would it benifit me if i change to the setup in the video?
the sr300 that comes with the dx3s? can i just get the spm1325 module and use it with that reciver or do i have to buy the sr3001? also can i use multiple sensors with the spm1325?
This question is about the battery tray from the dx3s. Instead of the 4 individual 1.2v cells can i use a 4pack 4.8v rechargable with little bit of modification?
Hello there, I got a Spektrum telemetry combo pack, and I would like to know if I can bind the onboard module to a Futaba 3GR-FS. I thought I'd use a spektrum radio for my project, but I'm more comfortable using a stick radio for this purpose.
@tuscanland Sorry but no, they are not compatible with each other. The FAAST system uses a different protocol for their 2.4GHz system than Spektrum uses with theirs.
@HorizonRCdotCom I also have a DX6i, and I could use it as long as I could bind it to the module. I'd assume that they would be compatible, but could you please tell me if there is a spring available to center the throttle stick?
I've heard there's a way but I haven't been able to confirm this. The only way I have figured out how to do this is with the method listed in the video.
Does that mean that 3S would damage the modules? Or simply that it would show 9.9v constantly until the voltage dropped below that point?
Also, can I connect the other sensors like temperature at the same time, or does this method of connection stop the temp sensor data being transmitted?
Ok, thanks. I have played around, and a workaround for (say) a 3S setup is to connect the red and brown wires to only the first two cells of the lipo, using the balance port (i.e. brown=-ve/earth and red=third wire of the four in the balance port). Then you are reading only the first two cells of the lipo, but that gives you a good idea of the total voltage of the lipo, and you can set the warning beep accordingly. i.e. 2 cells=8.4v fully charged, but if it drops below 6v you are damaging it.
Wow, sounds great! However I would caution people from doing this as, if you wire it wrong, you could damage the receiver, the monitor, or possibly the battery.
It doesn't have the same programming and hardware that the SR3000, SR3001 or SR3300T has. It's simply not equipped to work with telemetry. Its because of this that it cannot work.
Will the DX3S work with the original Spektrum Telemetry pack? I've got two of them installed already and would like to keep the existing setup in the cars.
Perfect! Will the telemetry gear be able to monitor motor temps in my Slash? It has a Sidewinder 5700 and a lot of people have issues with overheating so I just wanted to check and my Slash needs a new radio, MLST2 one is being used in the MLST2 currently.
Absolutely. There's a sensor in the box with the DX3R for motors, but I actually like using the Nitro Head Sensor myself...you don't need to tape the sensor into place with the Head Sensor. What's nice too is, if I remember right, the MLST2 came with the MRX-3000 DSM receiver. You cam bind that right to the DX3S as well :)
Cool! So this radio will work in the MLST2? See my stock Traxxas radio started to glitch as soon as I installed the Sidewinder so thats why it borrows the radio from the MLST2. Maybe even in my Nitro Stampede because sometimes that doesn't run at the correct temperature especially while running out in snow.
You can somewhat do that now, however it's not real-time like the telemetry. The Spektrum Flight Log (SPM9540) you can now quickly and easily view the real-time voltage supplied to your receiver, how many fades each internal receiver and remote receiver gets each flight, and if the system received any frame losses or failsafes (holds).
Is there a way to only measure two cells of the battery pack?

Will this be overloaded if I use a 6s lipo?
my73737373 2 months ago
@my73737373 Yes. It can read up to 9.9V max, anything above that will not read and will more than likely damage your system.

@alvinoolivas1 The SR300 is not telemetry equipped and will not work. You can use multiple sensors, such as temp and RPM and voltage

can i do this with a 6s lipo or would it burn out the on-board module SPM1325?
if not 6s what would be the max voltage SPM1325 can take
chunk421 2 years ago
Both the hand held unit and the DX3S are able to read 9.9v max. Unfortunately there's nothing right now for 3S or larger lipo

bluefisherking 2 years ago
From what the engineers have told me it won't read over 9.9v and more than that could cause potential damage.
This modification doesn't affect the other sensors, so you can still monitor RPM, Temp, etc.

Will the SR300 that came with my system work for this??? I dont see why not.
TomTomTuning 2 years ago
No, only the SR3000 and SR3001 can be used for this process. The SR3300T can be used for standard telemetry however.

Absolutely. But unlike the telemetry packs you won't need the hand held unit; it's all on the radio for you.
