Whoa all this argument about character backstories and touhou lore.... I didn't know there were fans so hardcore in the Touhou part of the fandom.

I personally love Sakuya because thrown knives are my favorite weapons, and time-stop is the coolest thing. I don't need no stinking explanation and don't care for cliche'd material.

@PaperLps Eh the only reason I really really hate EOSD is because the characters are overrated. There are way better characters. The whole cast of UFO and IN was amazing. It just feels like they pay too much attention to the EOSD characters. And I'm tired of people complaining about Sakuya. She is horrible, she has no background, her design is cliche, her first theme sucks, and she's selfish. Touhou is better without her.

She has no background? It's what makes fans love her, the mystery, especially after IN threw out the 'She could be Lunarian' thing. It was hinted since EoSD she wasn't human by Marisa.

And Ichirin is not a good character, she's hardly even a character. She's a hitbox. Ichirin is possibly the worst character in the whole series.

@Raikaria1 Of course Ichirin is a character, the one that's hardly a character is Flandre, after beating Remilia and "saving the day" Reimu/Marisa crosses Remilia' sister, now THAT's cliche, the story was complete and they just threw an extra character that was completely unnecessary, I also don't see how Rumia fits in the story

@HirosamaNadasaki Rumia is a Stage 1 Boss. Most of them [And most Stage 2 bosses] don't fit in with the story. Does Kogasa fit in with UFO? No.

Flandre has a backstory. An insane vampire with the ability to destroy anything locked in a cellar for 500 years in not cliche. Flandre even has a date of birth. What does Ichirin have? NOTHING. This completely unexplained partnership with Unzan.

Plus, EX stages are EXTRA to the story.

@Raikaria1 Ichirin is the protector of the flying boat in UFO, and is a friend of Shou and Byakuren, the rest of her story is mistery just like Sakuya, Flandre is extra to the story, but she just has a backstory not any involvement, like Yukari was needed to reinforce the boundary between the world of Dead and the world of the living.

Oh and, you seem to be stressed, relax dude, it's not like we're fighting or anything...

Currently playing SA, it's great and awesome but HOLY HELL I SUCK AT STAGE 4. This theme sounding kinda sad makes it feel like it's rubbing it in :(. But honestly, first time I heard it, it has become possibly my favorite song in all touhou.

My vote for the most UNDERRATED theme in the Touhou series. For the amount of people who absolutely know and love 3rd eye, a surprising number don't even know Satori's corresponding stage theme, which is, in terms of musical structure, material and complexity, equal or even superior to 3rd eye. While 3rd eye does have a relatively more catchy tune, Heartfelt Fancy is the representation of the Palace of Earth Spirits, perfectly depicting the stage background with its mysterious melodies.

Heartfelt Fancy is a wonderful song *.* it gives a ghostly, sad but charming feeling..... it feels like the lost hopes of many lost souls to me. Probably, my favourite song in Subterra ^^

@bahamutrunner Stage 4 isn't really hard, I was able to learn the patterns and clear it easily. It's Satori using Yukari's annoying-as-hell spellcards that's the problem!
