  • @worldcoup

Nothing is an arguement for eugenics.

  • The world will change..... and here comes the change... not Obamas change.... the peoples change.

  • this speech is hanging on my wall

  • Down with collectivism! up with Individualism and eventually VOLUNTARISM!

turn away all those who move over the land on nothing more or less than the art of violence and the promise of death. those who monoplize the business of destruction and the craft of murder.

government is only the WORST of all" necessary" evils

  • democracy = mob rule and how hitler came into power. liberty must be protected from the mob majority as well as from the dictators.

  • We utilize autonomous drones now, instead of the rule of law.

  • Charles Chaplin for President 2012

  • how could ten people dislike this great speach must be perry or mitt supporters neocon bastards DR RON PAUL for president 2012 from the uk peace all

  • the soundtrack doesnt match the speech.

  • beautiful. everything i can say about it in one word.

  • DRAGON HEARTTTT

  • I love it how after he made this movie he was labeled a "Jew" by people all over the world. Although he never confirmed nor denied it, he totally just quoted the book of Luke in this speech... even though he was playing a Jew.

This has to be one of the greatest movies ever made. (I'm hesitant to say the greatest because I obviously haven't seen all movies.)

  • 9 neocons pressed dislike.

  • Charlie Chaplin is NWO !!!

  • Is this a speech of what Hitler should/could have said? Odd how it apply's so perfectly to our time with the blueprints being created and all for a new society A resource based economy witch clearly relates to the views of this Charlie Chaplin fellow. Not to mention the uprisings around the world of people tired of the system they are stuck in.

  • This speech speaks so loudly to the world we are in now and the times we are facing ahead of us. The powers who try to control us are more blatant then ever! WAKE UP people a lot of us are but theirs many who say oh well lets go with getting our liberties taken away lets be enslaved its for our own good! WAKE UP! Nothing feels better then fighting for Liberty! Let's all unite! Ron Paul 2012 step in the right direction!

  • @DaRealCorleone22 How dare you equate any modern day politican especially a Republican one, with this wonderful democratic prose. You are a sensless breainwashed beast and probably a smelly nonce too. You and you're heathen lineage are an arguement for eugenics.

  • Timeless speech in the best movie of all times! It's shamefull how few people on the American continent know about it...

  • lol wut

  • Ron Paul 2012 = Liberty & Truth

  • Google ROn Paul

    Moneybomb today!

    Ron Paul President 2012!

  • great clip , id argue that rarely is a dictator put in power by sheer force but rather the willing obedience of the many. all it normally takes if for a few to not do anything and then more follow along Not doing anything all the while even fewer enact what was once thought impossible and next thing you know the masses of sheeple have given what once couldnt ever have been taken. everyday you have the power to obey or not

  • what kind of moral preaching is this in a friggin' movie. sorry, thumbs down.

  • I'd like to read this speech at my university using a megaphone but alas, most ppl would look at me crazy. great remix by the way you get a thumbs up from me :D

  • Wow, first time I heard him speak. He sounds like Donovan!

  • this is actually what hitler said, he knew the jews created the monetary system to slave everyone

  • Listen to his words. Stop trying to use his greatness to lend credence to your political trivialities. LISTEN and remember the voice of our Grandparents who worked together to defeat a great evil.

  • @BelleNex I agree-this man just wanted everyone to have security and be free of hatred.A genius!

  • Epic blend of music and great clips!

  • Ron Paul

  • What is that music playing? It's awesome.

  • 2 Zeitgeist Members, 2 Communists, and Al Gore don't approve of this message.

    -TEW

  • The Abuse of Greatness is when it disjoins Remorse from Power.

  • RON PAUL 2012

  • god this man was wasted in silent movies , he is great pity they forced him out of america for being a commie

  • Wow! I love this speach. I featured this at One Year Bible Blogging on facebook with the following verse. Talks like this one could change our world! Thanks for sharing.

Matthew 27:42b-44; "'He's the King of Israel!...In the same way the robbers who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him." John 10:8-10a; "All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers...I am the gate...The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life"

  • I love the message but alas, true unity will never happenn under the leadership of normal men. Technology will not satisfy us nor make us happy. The feet of men will still be quick to spill blood Romans 3:15 and their hands clever at inventing new forms of oppression.

Only after the world has seen and felt the epitomy of evil at the hands of the coming antichrist will it experience the grace of healing and true world peace at the return of Christ.

  • long live the name of legend Charlie Chaplin the poet and comedian, such influence.

  • id vote for him

  • Dear God this is so wonderful!

  • Charlie Chaplin once came 3rd place in a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest.

  • The scene speaks for itself. Great remix of the soundtrack though. Also nicely edited.

  • Chaplin is just amazing...

"The kingdom of God is among men. Not one man, not a group of men, but in all men... in YOU."

  • "And so long as men die... liberty will never perish!"

  • MAKE PEACE NOT WAR!!!

  • lynn the white witch her music of morden barrister9war criems) and ex mairne fat apul fo `i love paedophlise paedophlie hayses

  • That is the Greatest Speech in the World.

"We Think Too Much and Feel Too Little"

  • Who needs dictators when modern economics are so much more effective at turning people into slaves?

When an actor can do 5 minutes of 'work' and earn the same as thousands of packed sweatshops.... and be glorified for it.

95% of the wealth with 5% of the people. These are the new dictators.

  • @spawndog well said dear sir

  • @obriensimo Thankyou. This has been bubbling up in the human subconscious for a long time. Good to see it in the 'Occupy' movement recently and good to see you saw it too :)

  • @spawndog

true...but who buys the theatre tickets, the concessions, the dvds, video games, toys, lunch boxes, etc. etc. etc. as with all things that lead to our demise, it is because we have done it to ourselves. the quest to 'keep up with the jones' has ensured our destruction. yet we sit back & complain about it. but do people buy less? charge less? drive less? are people happy in being humble & living simply? it will always be man's desire for MORE that leads him to evil, excess, & the end.

  • @flashoftruth I completely agree. The question is of what is valuable is wrong, but my point it that it is both wrong and easily exploited.

  • @spawndog

we all have the potential to be wrong and easily exploited...well...not you, or me of course...but everybody else.

  • @spawndog But surely that's the fault of our society as a whole and not the actors.

  • @GiantSandles Yes

  • @spawndog - Yes, let's all make sure we're all doing the exact same pitiful job, and make sure that everyone wears the same clothing, and thinks the same thing.

    Ground your angst in reality.

  • @aaron8862006 The idea that non-capitalist meant non-individualist was very effective "RED's under the bed" propaganda after WW2. It's kind of sad that it is still alive and breathing. Humans will always strive for superiority/wealth but aggressive lack of compassion, financial exploitation and killing off future potential is unhealthy

  • @spawndog Sweatshops? Sweatshops free more people than your benevolence ever did. Sweatshops pay far more than the jobs native to the third world countries we supposedly abuse. The tyrants and do gooders who say we can't buy things from poorer countries because it hurts American jobs are the ones you should hate. Actors who make tons of money? What about the thousands and thousands of people who make their living in the production of their movies? They surely aren't hurt by it.

  • @worldofdraculas I'm not arguing the right for the movie industry to exist. But do you honestly believe that Chaplin (as brilliant as he is) can talk for 4:45 seconds and it is has vastly more value than the labor of another person's entire life?

Pardon my french, but fuck that and the retarded idea it rode in on

  • aside from the emphasis democracy instead of a constitutional republic and the whole no national borders thing, this is phenominal. nearly perfect. been my favorite movie for years. thanks for posting.

  • Whats the song thats been edited onto this video? It's brilliant!

  • Haven't you seen Dragonheart.? lmaoo

  • this is the best display in words how our world should be.

  • This is definitely my number onespeech of all time. A better world is indeed possible. There will be a time, when our soldiers lay their weapons down and noone will fight corporate wars anymore. People will come and recognize that we're all brothers and sisters no matter what religious belief, colour of skin or sexual preferences we have.

Fight the good war, love everyone!

  • A child that is taught to love, will do so. An infant is not born with the desire to kill, that's society, not man.

  • not really, have you heard of the nature vs, nurture debate? science has pretty much proven that our genes dictate our actions alot more than outside influences. And if you give two infants one bottle of milk, they will fight to the death for it. If you look at infants closely, you will see a very devious character.

  • You're quite right on that.

But the only reason why infants would behave this way is because their psychological structure is at the stage that only aims in fulfilling personal satisfaction.

As humans, we were made to survive and depending on any situations we'll face, we will somehow do what's needed to survive by any means necessary.

  • Milk does not come from a bottle. neither does man come from himself.

Children come from parents. milk comes from the love of a breast feeding mother. The child brings love to the mother by being hers to feed. The Mother brings love to the child by being his nurturer and comforter.

the babies who fight for the bottle of milk are not loved. When they are loved their is no want for milk because it is already there.

When both child and mother have each other there is peace. Love never fails.

  • If you there was an adequate supply of loving mothers is the world, but as any sane man would know, there is far too few. Children everywhere grow up fighting because it comes natural to them. Even those who have loving families would kill when rescources become scarce.

  • Loveee save the emptyyyy ;]

  • now u lost by your own mistake in the debate nature vs nurture; "Even those who have loving families would kill when rescources become scarce. " xD

  • actually it is as men need men to survive

  • that is called cooperation, not peacefulness.

  • You the people ?

  • In any world,or society,, Acting cruel is wrong even to save things we believe in!

    Humans should all be banned.

People treat each other wrong .

    Its obvious.

If people treated each other right thier wouldnt be anyone complaining!

Treat others as you would have them treat you,,idiots! (the last comment was ment for me also!) .Speak for myself you say? Look in the mirrow. Mother treasa got the heck out of here.

  • He also spoke about destroying national barriers; not good! spoke about democracy which is Plato NWO rather then then the rights of man in a constitution. Having said that I think CC wasn't NWO but doing this film because he hated National Socialism and because his half brother was a Jew.

  • Iran needs this speech!!

  • America needs this speech.

  • Not only America my friend ;)

  • America tries to rule and conqure now. Modern Hitler

  • This video is about socialism (nazi) and the slavery incurred by dictators (big government oligarchies).

As the video says, Freedom is Democracy... and the American consitution.

America gives two times more in charitable donations to the world than any other nation. Look what we are doing for Haiti.

You are brainwashed by current American government trying to make itself bigger and bigger at the expense of individual freedom by indoctrination.

Think for yourself. That is freedom.

  • I look what you do in Iraw and Afganistan.

  • The American people are protesting these wars. There is HUGE opposition to our government's decisions. Opposition that is trying to get the corruption out of our government so we can return to the nation we were when we faught and died to secure the freedoms of people all over the world post world wars. The problem is that corrupt officials are brainwashing the public into believing that giving them more power is better for the people. But Americans are waking up. Goodness will prevail.

  • I really hope american people will wake up and see that USA is in ıraq and Afghanistan for emperialist aim. You cant find againts teror occupiying mountains of Afghanistan.

and noone asked yo to bring democracy to their country. They just want to survive

  • @metesunshine Youre an idiot.

  • @Ineedhelp2811 and what are you?

  • @nefariousgovernment socialism and nazism are polar opposites :)

  • @cecisota12 no they're not

  • @JamesBCS

Basis of socialism = total equality for all, no private property, etc.

basis of nazism = "KILL THE SOCIALISTS!!! THEY MUST DIE!!!" persecution of jews came later...

  • @cecisota12 sure, but if you look at various other things which the nazi party did in germany eg. the state-sponsored 'people's car' scheme which brought about volkswagen, expansion of the welfare state, nationalisation of various industries and the state funded opportunity for all germans to achieve higher education, you can see that the nazi party used many elements of the left as well as the right. Far-right parties attract the same group as left-wing parties - the workers.

  • @JamesBCS definitely... and in the end, it's always just one powerful minority oppressing the same workers who got them there in the first place.

i'd give a lot to meet charlie chaplin...

  • @cecisota12 yeah, although Russia after the revolution of 1917 may have delivered real communism which Lenin tried to achieve, but a large part of the group who fought for it were destroyed by the white armies of conservatives, monarchists etc. after the revolution and this paved the way for people like Stalin.

  • @JamesBCS lol well they were called the "National Socialists".

  • @eratosphenes true, but don't be like glen beck and get fooled into thinking that nazism was proper socialism as it's intended to be, it wasn't, it just contained some elements of socialism.

  • @JamesBCS

What kills me about Glenn Beck is, he's always calling Obama a Nazi/socialist, but LOL the Nazis were fascists, which is on the far right of the political spectrum.

  • @lifeissuperhard it's because 'Nazi' was a shortening of Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei which means National Socialist German Workers' Party. What things are called is the depth of Glenn Beck's interpretation of anything.

  • @JamesBCS

Yeah, I know. I just think that Glenn Beck is funny because even though he knows what Nazi stands for and that they were bad, he really doesn't know anything about them or socialists. As you said, the depth of his interpretation is not very deep.

  • @eratosphenes and the italians were the national syndicalists, do you accuse anarcho-syndicalists of supporting dictatorship

  • @nefariousgovernment scuse me, sir... chaplin was a social democrat (socialism+democracy). nazis hated socialists. americans hated nazis and socialists.

other than that, what is the correlation between American donations and the constitution? most donations are from non-governmental organizations (NGOs)...

But in the end, yes. Think for yourself. Individualism. :)

  • @metesunshine

unfortunately you are so very correct. the people that are down thumbing your comment are those that live in denial & are most likely religious as well, (would it be assuming to suggest christian?) & i am willing to bet not a one is from the middle east.

we have gone from being a semi-respected nation to being the bullies of the world. all one has to do is realize corporations like mcdonald's, pizza hut, etc. are already there to know what these wars are all about, power & $

  • An American from America made this speech.

  • This speech may be old but it holds some timeless truths about man. One simple but effective part of the speech got stuck in my mind.

-"We think too much and feel too little"

That remark my be even more true today then it was in 1940 when this movie was created.

  • ibelieve.

  • metoo.

  • And anyone who hasn't seen Robert Downey, Jr.'s stunning portrayal of the master in 'Chaplin' simply HAS TO!

  • Charles Chaplin is the greatest filmmaking genius of all time. Writer, actor, music composer, producer, director...phenomenal talent and his films are timeless. They blow away today's lame attempts at comedy and they are very moving as well. Great movie, The Great Dictator (Hitler stole Chaplin's mustache BTW, Chaplin had it first). As for this quote from John, however...it sounds like humanistic, do-gooder talk. Man is sinful and needs to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive him.

  • Great speech! Though I never heard it from our present politicians...hmm!

I am confused, whether that dome shaped house (background photo) are the cause or solution for mankind suffering...?

  • too bad he wasnt a libertarian

  • Beautiful.

  • that was fucking amazing.

  • now I have this on my ipod xD

  • hey, how did you get the charlie chaplin the great dictator video into your ipod/mp3?

did u get it from youtbe?? please let me know :D

  • You download the vid and rip the audio from it using a FLV extract application

  • ok thanks. one last thing, where do u download the FLV extract application?

  • how is this a remix?

  • there is no BGM in the original film

  • As always, the right-wingers want to ignore the fact that this speech is pretty much a demand for democratic socialism.

  • "As always, the right-wingers want to ignore the fact that this speech is pretty much a demand for democratic socialism."

No, I accept it as the fatal error that so many who so earnestly want peace make. No matter one's intentions, the 2nd most commonly prescribed remedy to the problem is still poison. Make no mistake, I greatly revere this man, and this speech. But I do not shy away from this disagreement.

The #1 remedy? Love. And that he was dead-on right about.

  • whats the problem for socialism?

i have never understand peoples problem with socialism

can u tell me what are the problems with it?

  • Very simple: socialism is incompatible with individual freedom. And individual freedom will always exist. Therefore, systems can only work in proportion to how much they respect it.

If you want more, write me directly, and I'll be happy to go into this further.

  • In a free democratic society, we can vote for politicians that promise public programs sponsored by the government. Free Individuals, working together, can do what they want. Free market idealists cannot dictate to the rest of us.

Nothing says socialism cannot be compatible when free people vote for social programs. Free people working together is what makes us great. Individuals have the right to social programs just as much as individuals have the right to vote.

  • You're a perfect example of Isaiah Berlin's positive freedom. True freedom is not the freedom to tax other peoples money, just because it's a democratic decision.

You can't 'dictate' freedom to people. A society without any oppression is NOT a form of oppression.

  • Your nuts. Your an idealists who goes through mental gymnastics to justify individual chaos over national democratic policies.

A Democracy needs to respect the voting will of the people as a group, the majority, or it is not democratic.

  • First of all, I'm not nuts.

I don't prefer chaos. I prefer a free society in which everyone can choose it's own life, rather than a majority who can dictate their ways to a minority. What makes the majority right? We don't use consensus in science, why would some people know it better just because they're with more people? Good luck with mental gymnastics.

I don't like a system in which two wolves and a sheep are voting on what's for dinner.

  • Bull, you do not want Democracy. We live in a democratic country where the people, as a group, decide what is best for the country. The individual is not the most important thing, the nation is, because it is where we all must live.

Any country in the world you will have restrictions. That is life, that is reality.

Your nutty idea of freedom means no one can be forced to do anything and nothing can be prohibited.

Get married and find out what freedoms you have.

  • @HinyNL

It's an established logical fallacy. Argumentum ad populum.

  • @HinyNL That is the foundation of true anarchy

  • Bingo, smartest thing I've heard in a while. That would be the ultimate conflict in everything wouldn't it.

  • This made me cry.

  • a good actor with feew good words ..good to hear those imaginary words of an imaginary world

  • Thanks for the video... best speech ever.

I like how the voice is more clear than the original though I personally think its better without the music. :) It's good music though!

  • That was an amazing vid, never seen that film b4, whats the music !?! I must know, thanx

  • It's called "To the stars" from the Dragonheart soundtrack. Cheers

  • Thank you so much i love u and want 2 have ur babbies, but lets take it slow.

  • @swatmc It sounds not unlike Edelman's other score for Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

  • people please now go to desteni at youtube and watch all of hitlers has to say now and what he was trying to create. If you dont understand channeling please be do a few surches and see how we are being manipulated

  • right? its just a film clip m8 calm down

  • should do what he say against ...

  • great speech, until... "in the name of democracy" ??? lol - *smacks forehead* - that's the exact opposite of liberty - google the difference between a democracy and a republic. A democracy is mob rule, with no foundation of law and principles - it is 'majority vote wins', even when it tramples on your rights and the principles of freedom, liberty and true goodwill towards mankind. We have to re-educate ourselves. We've been swindled. Good hearts and good minds got manipulated. :(

  • Thumbs down? He speaks the truth. A Democracy calls for a Big and Powerful Federal Government (Hence Democrat). A Republic goes to states' right. States are smaller and therefore easier to control by the people. With a small government (Federal gov,), the crutch to the corporations is lost, and along with it's power. So long as the people learn to control, take care, and educate themselves the power is theirs. Republicans these days aren't Conservatives. They are fascist. Learn the difference.

  • gettinghitonattheban - I think you misunderstood what I wrote, or, I didn't do a good job of writing what I think about 'democracy' - I am FOR state rights, and reigning in federal government to the very small size it was intended to be. It's that word, democracy, that has fooled people, manipulated them - as democracy is 'majority rule' and does not abide by the principles of liberty and freedom, nor does it respect the natural rights of individuals. In the name of freedom, let us unite.

  • Isn't that what I explained?

  • Once you are inside a prison (present corrupted system), your freedom is guaranteed but NOT your LIBERTY. And your higher authorities are well aware of this but not the masses. Yes we need to fear any democratic system, where the moment the masses/mob are untutored as they might elect the worse leader that they have ever dreamed of.

  • Can't skip the "as long as men die" part, that's the tough part, and a choice that if made correctly can step us out of our jails of fear which are not locked, just arranged by our own doubt in the closed position. And it will turn when the unloved die for the loved, in turn redeeming the love for themselves and redeeming every moment of their unloved past, all for the same cause of good. -tw

  • An impressive speech. Great words. I can't believe I never heard of this one until now.

  • @nightflyer28,

Same thing for me. And do you know why we haven't heard about this one until now? Because the world hasn't cared too much about promoting peace and freedom. Hate and intolerance seems to sell more than kindness. Unfortunately, that is why.

    Peace to all.

  • god this gives me the chills.

ive heard the audio a million times but he... wow... *shiver*

he has spoken a universal truth.

  • Powerful. The truth hurts, doesn't it? And all the fools who still subscribe to such political idiocy.Aryans (born by chance, like everybody ) DESPISE vile racist shit as much as everyone.ALL racism on all sides; black, white. This is such a remarkable film; the genius of Chaplin.Thankyou. JUSTICE!

  • Tears come out of heart, of feeling and of hope; long desired agenda - hope the world is following this.

  • THE GREATEST ACTOR OF ALL TIMES

  • Why is Ron Paul tagged on this?

  • My guess is because Ron Paul is one of the greatest people who has ever tried to become a president of the U.S.A. Ron Paul, much like Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator" is a great man, who has ideas that would benefit people more than anyone could possibly think they would.

  • Dude, wtf is up with Ron Paul cult. You guys need to give it a rest.

  • Anyone who hasn't seen this movie needs to because it is funny movie with a good message.

  • What is this music you added?

  • It's a song from the movie "Dragon Heart." I believe it was called "To the Stars."

    Enjoy!

  • love the speech...its so true!!

  • This speech make me almost crying of emotion.

This speech it is so actual!!!

    This speech should be the cry for all Humanity;

    Thank-you Master Chaplin!

    P.Launay France

  • It is a shame uS was able to roduce this type of culture but now they don't

  • Love it.

  • The Speech fits right in today with everything going on in the world. (Dapro) France

  • France as been always in the verge of the global evolution France is a great nation - i just wanted to share that-

  • Terriffic! Fits right in with current events and happenings in todays life..only problem is, PEOPLE will NOT wake up in time to save the world.............. "EVIL unchecked gains power"...

    ..

"EVIL breeds while good men sit and watch."

    ............. .............(JDAPRO) France

  • EVIL breeds while good men sit and watch." (Callius Thessalophus, 1832)

  • One of the greatest speeches ever told. It is a privelage to hear the truth that we were all blind to.

  • Pfff how beautiful this is, and how total truth. This speech goes through the heart, how great!!!!

What song is put under it btw? Beautiful as well, would like to download it!

  • What a great speech. The elite club (group, class, or whatever they call themselves) in this country do plan to provide freedom and prosperity for themselves and enslave the rest of us. By the way, if you like Charlie Chaplin, get his movie Limelight-it is such a touching and beautiful film.

  • Wonderful! History repeats itself. And then it repeats itself again. And it repeats itself again. And again. And again. And again. And again. Can we get off this wicked ride? Please vote for Ron Paul and do all you can to get him into office.

  • Truly fantastic speech!
