UltraHD is better. Better colours and not as too bright as Mino. So it would be able to handle highlight a bit better in white part. You don't want highlight to be blown out really especially the skies and foreground.

Seems like the Ultra HD has a wider lens, unless you zoomed in with the Mino.

@rugbybudy You just have to download a program like adobe After effects or final cut or apple motion or sony vegas. All of these programs will let you put two videos ( overlapping, etc.) into the same video with a simple drag-and-drop process.

i cant believe ultra is cheaper then mino and 20 times better! but wow! 200 and 230 for those crappy cameras? u can buy like a real camera with threads and 1080p or 1080i quality for that money! if u wanna buy a pocket video camera, i recomend the kodak zx1, i filmed with it for 8 months about, really good quality and colors, and only 100 bucks its way better than any flip out there

Btw people the reason why the mino HD is more expensive and less quality than the ultra HD is because its smaller meaning the technology thats in the mino HD has to be more compact and smaller which makes the price rise... because the ultra HD isnt built to be really small the company FLIP dont have to stress when it comes to making a good HD camera... get the ultra HD (y) getting mine in a weeks time =]

I just got the Flip Ultra HD for my birthday. I never got to see a side-by-side comparison of the Ultra HD versus the Mino HD and was a little concerned because I thought the newer model (Mino) would produce better videos and considered switching it in and paying the extra $30. However, after seeing this video and filming with my Ultra HD, I realized I got the model that produces better quality videos for less money :)

@hobbitg3 The Ultra HD has the OPTION of using AA batteries. I charge mine with the USB port on my laptop every time its needed a charge since I got it, but it's nice to carry spare batteries on trips and such in case I need them.

Ultra HD has better Video Quality and you can swap the rechargeable battery pack out with AA batteries.

The Minos video feels like it has a filter over it and you cant swap batteries so once the battery is dead you have to find a way to charge it. Its also a finger print magnet. Also the Ultra HD isn't even that big and easily fits in your pocket. Get the MinoHD if you badly want a very slim camcorder. Get the UltraHD if you don't mind it bigger a tad bigger but want better quality.
