  • I still have the comic that came with Space Quest 2 when it came out. The manuals that Sierra used to make put the modern ones to shame! I've kept all the old manuals to this day.

  • Two words:

    GOD. YES.

  • I am looking forward to this hard core. I had this game back in the day, but the last disk was faulty, and I never had a chance to complete it. Now with this remake, I will enjoy it all over again... but like never before!

  • Isn't some of the music from the 1955 giant monster movie "Tarantula"? The style of this trailer certainly mimics the film trailer in a good way.

  • real excited to play this.. planning a full play through of the entire series including the other fan remakes, space quest 0 and space quest 4.5 :D:D been waiting for this for years!!!!!!!! :D

  • This game better be out already!

  • Why the hell don't they remake the PoliceQuest 1-4 series and original S.W.A.T. for the PS3?

  • @PolizeiPaul Who? Activision? IA? AGDI? Hell, Magic Mirror or Telltale? I know there's been a Police Quest 2 remake bandied about, but if anything will ever happen with it, who knows?

  • I noticed the return of the bubble helmet.

I thought (a long time ago (and after seeing the VGA remake of SQ1) that it might be cool to remake the other games in the series based on other eras of sci-fi. For instance, while SQ1 represented 50-60ish sci-fi, SQ2 could be based on 70's style sets. Think Space: 1999. (white sets, tinted panels, magnetic data tapes, and oscilloscopes). Space Quest III, likewise could represent the more "modern" 80's. (LCD & LED digital displays (Knight Rider set)

  • You really care about us diehard adventure gamers.

  • Wow, awesome!

  • AWESOME! I can't wait!

  • Make the game along with Kings Quest, Police Quest, Simon The Sorcerer, Drangon Sphere, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (best), Day of the Tenticle, and the rest.

  • Thanks Gangularis.

Yeah, we had planned to release it in March but our lead programmer decided to get married and it's delayed the game quite a bit. It's pretty much complete with just a few things needed cleaning up but it is coming soon, don't worry.

  • @JBroomie Zeek?

  • @JBroomie Still cleaning up?

  • Thanks IA for such good remakes like King's Quest 3, and for the future Space Quest II vga rmk!!!!

  • They say this game will be officially released in March.

  • Intrigue *NOM*

  • I've been playing the SQ series since i was 6! It's good to finaly see a remake!

  • Agreed, though I would have loved hearing the trailer done like the guy Pablo Francisco loves to copy.

  • good work, looks cool

  • holy shit, I can't belive this is happening after all these years, a remake of SQII, I can't wait

  • Excellent work!

I love the series of space quest, but you go to do some other game of space quest series?

  • They don't have to. All the others are already in VGA style, save for 6, which has hand-drawn animation, and 3, which doesn't really need it.

  • Haha I love it! Great trailer.

  • Wow, really awesome. I'm looking forward to this game - although I didn't see any GUIs yet.

Also, why are you doing 32bit? You could easily still transform it into a REAL VGA game!

  • Thanks. The GUI's are the same from Space Quest 1 VGA and 4. It just seemed better that way, more Space Quest like.

And 32 bit allows our artists the freedom to make the intended background without any limits or hassles. Having only 256 colors to choose from would make it very difficult for our artists and each background would need more time than necessary when we can get fantastic and quicker results using the full palette but still maintain that VGA look. :)

  • @JBroomie Awesome, that GUI was the best gui sierra had for it's games of that era!!

  • Can't wait til this comes out. KQIII remake was amazing and true to the original.

  • Wait, 1992 was the year of the monkey! I should know, that's when I was born. Anyway, can't wait for the remake. I own the Space Quest collection, and have been waiting for the second one to be done up in VGA style.

  • Jumping on the bandwagon, huh? Well, that's alright. As long as adventure game logic doesn't derail again like it did in the 90's. :)

  • Space Quest 2 - Wha-hooo . . .!!!

  • It looks really nice :) And what a great way to present the remake, I love that 50's Sci-fi movie style.

Can't wait to play it, keep up the impressive work guys and you will make thousands of nerds happy :D

  • Love the "50's sci-fi B-movie" style trailer, can't wait for the game. I loved the King's Quest III remake, and I'm sure that IA won't disappoint.
