Like I said on FB... those darn bikers probably pollute the air with gas emissions, cuz they all like to eat beans. And those beautification ideas... who wants to see those shinny spokes sparkling from the suns reflection as bright white, red, and blue bikes streak by. Sometimes it shocks me to hear the words that come out of politicians... Americans upset with bike path, what? Certainly not this one... cuz I want trains also, so I can haul my bike out to Portland some day for a a ride.
Thanks for the video response. I guess he hasn't changed since I posted my piece... You are right that we shouldn't get complacent because this kind of attitude has a certain inertia.
Has the congressman responded to the criticism of his comments in the last few days? It appears that he does not understand the economic value of "bike paths" as transportation infrastructure.
I cant be leave what I just heard ! He must think riding bikes is unamerican ! And that we must be stuck on fforeign oil !
