Ummm.. The word ''fun'' is a quite subjective word. It's all about personal taste. I love the arma series and consider it a lot more fun than COD, for instance (in my opinion cod is frustating to play) and there's a lot of people that think so aswell. I can do say that the masses don't consider arma as fun but for a niche audience it is.

@hylianknight3 I would say... Cod = not realistic at all.. But a fun run a shoot arcade game.. Arma is on the other hand the most realistic military sim out there. Americas Army was also realistic to some point. BF3 is (from the little Beta gameplay) a mix of COD and Arma 2. Feels realistic enough. And enough arcade action to keep you going.

The good thing about this game is that no two people's experience of the game is the same, for instance when I played through the first level, as soon as the chopper touched down my squad was under fire from an APC up on the hill. It wiped out the whole of my squad apart from the squad leader and a rifleman.

It's to simulate holding your breath and the added concentration that follows.

Yeah I know what you mean, however the image can't be made clearer since it's already at its clearest. In reality ppl can see more detail, and by narrowing your vision, holding your breath, moving your head to the scope and concentrating ppl can aim better and interpret whether their target is truly an enemy or not. The same can't be done for a video game. Even if the player tries concentrating and moves their eyeball closer to the screen they can't get the same results.LOL funny image

@credor2 Hold right mouse button to zoom in without aiming down the sights, and just tap it once to aim down the sights, also, you can hold the right mouse button when you are looking down the sights to zoom.

The reason that they did this is because seeing in say 1680x1050 pixels isn't how it works in real life, you can see much clearer. So if you needed to see what something was at a distance, you can "Clear" you vision by zooming in.

if you "zoom" and then play it on an very big screen, so that you have the correct FOV, its just like in RL

@Zeebra901 The AI talks by picking word samples from a list to make up sentances to comunicate whats going on in his field of view to all the other units on his side and to ask for medical assistance or ammo. It sounds fakke but it's dynamic, the Ai is not limited to what he can say like in other games.

ARMA2 is its own thing. I play it often and I have to say I can't compare it to anything else on the market. It isn't an FPS nor an RPG, it is a military simulator. To put it into perspective, Bohemia Interactive creates military simulators for Armies around the world! ARMA2 is my favourite game (it never gets old). Having said that, it isn't for everyone. Try the Arma2 demo, but be warned that the actual full version of the game is more taxing on your system. :)

@chrisjm325 Not sure whether you thought he meant most systems would only give 5 -10 FPS total. But he did say more. Play a game at 20 fps and then play at 30 there is a great difference and the game will feel much more responsive

Standard ArmA 2 runs about 22 fps for me so i'll happily take thos extra frames =]
