We went there in a group of 14 (cruise ship stop) and we nearly got muggled, stabbed and a homeless man threw a packet of rotten cheese balls in our faces asking us to buy it for 18$ :l
it had beautiful beaches but the smell was horrible.
@666Lilley forgot to mention , it was september 27 so it was their annual new calidonean day so maybe thats why there were so many thugs around that day.
It was lovely to hear from some of our fellow travellers. It was a great experience for us too. Also our first cruise - which I must say I was not too sure about leading up to it. We too, are converted, and will indeed be lining up for another cruise some time in the future, - maybe we'll catch up with you there!

It would be magical to see sydney at that time, im going on January the 13th, i cant wait, do yo know how to get upgrades for rooms by any chance?
