the only problem here really is the rushing. he has technique and plays with alot of character but its out of tempo. and in a piece with this many rests that can change, even throw off the spirit of the piece. when the tempo is correct it will be perfect, he has a fine sense of musical personality
Lmao hes breathing so heavily, thats why I dont like when they put the Microphones so close to the mouth. Imagine if he started muttering "Old bastard...lacking strength because im falling my ass" hahha
David Kadouch plays 1 million times better than all of you could ever dream. It would be fun to watch you all playing this sonata in a recorded masterclass with Barenboim, I bet it would be very, very funny.
Stop wasting time writing these stupid thoughts of sad jealous and try to do something useful and admire what you will never be able to do.
Kadouch will soon be one of the most recognized classical musicians in the world thanks to the quality of his performances, I'm sure. And then I will laugh even more of you all, and you will be still at home watching videos on youtube and criticizing people who you don't know, poor bastards..
I do not think he is being dismissive, I reckon that the real problem here is that the young lad chose the wrong sonata. (the semi quaver sections are very dffifult mechanical runs and you simply have to jump into them head first, concentrate on the notes and hold your breath). That is not so easy to change your style on the spur of the moment.
He would have been better off chosing the last movement of this sonata.
This kid irritates me. It's not just his stupid unnecessary theatrics, but he seems to be VERY dismissive of everything Barenboim has to say! Listen to him, don't rush him!
Great teacher and wonderful ability to turn musical ideas into words.
I hate to say it, but he is wrong about the "forte" he claims is in the score. The student is right--there is no such marking, it is "piano" until a few bars later when Beethoven marks "forte." Oops. Good he doesnt make a big deal out of it!
oh man where are the old pianists. Just respect the music. Everything became show the guy just making show barenbohim didnt say anything but im sure he laugh at him
@Expresseon Each musician moves differently. There´s no comparison between Horowitz´s motionless approach and Gould´s hunching and humming over the keyboard. It´s whatever works naturally for each individual.
I feel that Lang Lang was able to take Maestro Barenboim's instructions much better than the other two pianists. The Maestro really is a great teacher.
some little people say negative comments about maestro baremboim, but i'd rather listen to the opinions of lang lang maxim vengerov etc who ALL think he is a genius..but i have fun reading envious comments also so feel free
At the beggining it is very hard to stop doing it...
but when you do all that you distruct your audience... and if you have an audience of not very serious musicians... then what they will remember form your resital wont be your preformance but all the movements you made....
I admit it I used to do it too... it comes out its honest yes... You make it mechanicly but you must learn how to control your self and pass all that passion in the piano and the music you are playing
wow this guy looks like he's going to explode with passion...for me it's fascinating how such minor detail can produce such profound results and meaning...wonderful!!!!
poor kid :P great musician though

Clearly a talented pianist, but obviously not enough for the complexities of Barenboim. Also, how heavy is his breathing?

@karekore13 Depends what version you got. In the Urtext (which should be the most accurate) Barenboim is right.
hermanshermits124124 1 year ago
@karekore13 You'r right, in the Henle urtext, the Forte isn't untill the next measure!
hermanshermits124124 1 year ago
@karekore13 I have the Artur Schnabel edition, it shows a clear forte right where Daniel Barenboim was talking about.
