  • Thank you so much for sharing this lovely dish. I bundled thyme, oregano and parsely as my herbs (which complemented one another very well), and ended up cooking the roast a little longer due to size. The meat was so tender. Thanks again :)

  • this is such a yummy recipe! I hated my mom's pot roast as a child and I don't even know what possessed me to try making my own, but I made this for my husband one chilly day and it was so fantastic and he loved it! I am making it again today...yay!

  • Alot of people from Louisiana seem to knock this guy, but let me tell you, y'all don't know shit. I was born and raised in Gonzales, La. and while some of his techniques may be different, this dude knows how to cook. There ain't nothing wrong with how he does it. The only thing I'd do different than him on this roast is serve it with potatoes and over rice. This dude is good.

  • well made but helps if you tie up the meat with butcher string.dust with flour and then seal.also a dollop of tomato puree can add a zing to the dish finish off with chopped mint and raw garlic mixed to gether

  • First, that looks more like a simmering stake than a roast. Second, vegies shouldn't be chopped so small. And third, a reduction sauce using cream and butter is so much better than gravy.

  • I used Extra Virgin Olive Oil and insted of cooking down the broth that far I put in corn starch to thicken it up a bit. More gravy for sopping up with your bread, the flavor is already there. Thanks, very good recipe.
