  • This was a fascinating story, with a perfect choice of imagery and pictures. Thank you, Mehmet! Though I have to say that shipwrecks always- always- break my heart.

  • Thank you very much for watching and for the comment Dave, shipwrecks break all hearts ,it is a sad story , the music is also sad , it is from Mehves Hanim : one of the Turkish Female Composers who lived 19th century.

  • Trying to be objective, but touching. Good one!

Turkey and Japan should try to cherish and foster their beautiful friendship no matter what may happen between them politically or religiously. It's so precious in this wicked world.

  • Beautiful as usual Mehmet ! The account of of this ship and it's crew is quite something, I've had much pleasure un reading them.

Can you enlighten me as to what naval instrument you depicted at 1:25 ?

    Have a good day !

  • Thanks Stantorr,

The inclinometers(Turkish:yalpa müşiri) are used to measure the heel of a sailboat at sea. Knowing the heel, or angle of tilt of a sailing vessel, is vital for optimum sail trim, as well as safety.Aeroplanes, submarines are using modern incl.or clinometers
