Normally I'm with you Cenk, but you've got this one wrong. The $11 billion shortfall happened because of the economic downturn. Its written in the Texas constitution that the budget must be balanced, so unlike California, Massachusetts and the federal government we'll actually deal with the problem now rather than borrowing more money. As for the staff - you're complaining about 5 people? Michelle Obama has a personal staff of 24, and she's not even an elected official.

Rick Perry is just like the old planter class in the South that stirred up the secessionist movement during the antebellum. A wealthy minority class of planters and landowners who could afford slaves got poor, slave-less white farmers all angry and riled up over the "right" for their wealthy white landowners to hold slaves.
