In other vids you made statements about the public option, well now you have it. This bill will most likely pass and everyone will lose. Slow and steady was the only way to reform health care, but all of the dopes in Washington wanted to make big names for themselves. The sheep just followed along, you get what you pay for. We will all be stuck with a second rate system in the near future or we will have to pay super inflated rates for individual insurance instead of an affordable group plan.
oh lee. are you actually against the individual mandate? i usually support you, but that is ridiculous if you are against that..this video makes it seem like you are.. there are subsidies to help people who can't afford it & those who literally can't afford it at all will be included in medicaid.. you have to have an individual mandate or the young & healthy won't buy insurance to help balance out the sicker people who will. of course there are flaws with parts, but shadowgunman is right.
I am totally against the individual mandate, just like candidate Obama was and for the reasons he stated during the campaign. It won't work and it's not a progressive solution.
i know you are for single-payer, which i would be fine with, but that obviously isn't politically viable at this time.. so without an individual mandate how would you expand the pool of people with coverage so it's not lopsided with the costlier sick? and why all of a sudden do you want to kill the bill? the individual mandate has been in legislation since the beginning of the process, and up until now you were posting videos in support of reform as long as it had a public option.
Stranahan I am with you 110% , this is not Obama' s original idea, his was Single Payer, Medicare for All... now Public Option is off the table? This bill is unconscionable.
i'm not the one who said the public option was a make or break deal-i was referring to stranahan on that because that was his previous position. the subsidy levels aren't final yet, since we don't have a final bill. i bet you know that. this isn't what fascism looks like, it's the ugly sausage making of legislating.

i know the senate is more conservative than the house, but i do believe you are missing a lot of exceptions in the bills. i like kaiser's detailed side-by-side comparisons that can be found at kff's org site. and what poll says 50% of repubs favor single-payer? that would be awesome, but i doubt the credibility of that number very much. i know many of our politicians are corrupted by money, but i would not call our system fascist. just as i wouldn't compare any of our politicians to hitler.
Thanks for asking about the poll. Unfortunately, Youtube won't allow me to embed it here, but google NY Times Healthcare Poll. It will astound you.
Of course, it's often a matter of how the question is asked. Our corporate tool of a President now chooses to use words like "socialized medicine" when describing such a program, rather than single payer or Medicare for all. Unfortunately his self-serving nonsense has had a negative influence on the whole movement.
Allowing a 25% increase in rates is on page 22 of the bill. Do a search on Kucinich and the Ed Schultz show and you will see it there. Stranahan is right, this bill is no good. The blue dogs and the insurance companies wrote this bill. Single payer is the only solution to the high cost of insurance and healthcare.
Lee I'd like to check out the claim that the House bill allows insurance companies to raise rates by twenty-five percent. There's no reference in the video. I'm serious. I hadn't heard this before and thanks and all, but when you throw something out there without any videoey footnotes it really smacks of the same tactics the Other Side prefers. And we still have to get through conference. How 'bout suggesting we call our congressmen and demand it be stripped in conference?
If you want to convince people that your point of view carries some weight, you don't just throw shit out there without any reference at all. Showing a picture of the page in the background isn't good enough. I have to read the whole bill to figure out what he's on about? He made the video. He's making the charge. He should back it up.
Nanotyrnns, YOU are the problem with America. Willful ignorance is killing us. You actually can do some checking of your own. If you're waiting for someone to put every detail under your nose, you're going to have an awfully long wait.
Don't be lazy. Don't be stupid. Educate yourself.
Should he he have to "back up the charge" that Congress is mandating health insurance in the first place? No! Why not? Because he's entitled to expect a modicum of education on the part of the viewer. If you had been paying ANY ATTENTION AT ALL to the issue, you would already heard the 25% figure at least a dozen times. If, however, you are entering into the discussion a complete ignoramus, as is apparently the case, then you can easily check the figure for yourself in about 30 seconds!!
