These people's stories are really interesting, but without more solid evidence they're just that - stories. It would be cool and amazing and great if its all true, but there just isn't enough solid evidence. All we've really got is stories handed down from person to person and that's just not enough. If Bill Nye stuck to this line of reasoning instead of trying to come up with all kinds of crazy alternative explanations, then I think he'd seem like less of an arrogant, know-it-all skeptic.
