I think it should be a law you have to report when a gun is stolen. It's common sense and it not being a law allows people to just say there gun was stolen if detectives come around investigating a murder. Obviously that doesn't clear them as a suspect but it gives them an excuse as to why they don't have their gun to compare to one used in a murder. This guys reasons are shit though in too many ways to list.
Id also like to add that they should make a law requiring any new gun law made should have an expiration date added to it. If it doesn't work, it expires, if it works, the law stays. THATS common sense.
These politicians need to stop making laws which effect normal law abiding citizens and enforce the current laws which effect criminals. Also like someone mentioned, reporting them is pointless. It clears your name but does NOT get them off the street. Isnt the point of these laws to get them off the street in the first place?.
This is stupid. Who would not report a stolen gun? For insurance purposes if nothing else plus liability. But to make a law requiring it? Enforce the gun laws on the books not make new ones! I have over 30 handguns, why would one a month mean anything to me.
exactly. If any of my guns come up missing you can bet your ass I will report them stolen. Criminals will find ways to get guns illegally no matter what laws you pass because they are...get this...CRIMINALS. Stop using criminal activity as an excuse to limit the freedoms of lawful gun owners. Enforce the laws we have. Making new laws isn't going to stop any criminal who will find new ways to break them anyway.
Gun laws can't and wont stop or lessen murders from fire arms. No gun restriction laws have stopped criminals from getting guns. Normal law abiding citizens don't go about shooting each other for fun, nor to win an argument. Accidental shootings from guns only number about two hundred a year(If you have a factual number saying otherwise give me the address, to a website, to this information)I urge u to look up the video, "Gun Myths", before you make an argument against my statement.
retarded... it's not guns that kill people. people kill people. Next thing, people gonna run around with rifles and we all know rifles are almost always more deadly....
Whether with or without guns, people will still kill people regardless using other means..
Instead of creating a whole bunch of useless gun laws that the criminals will ignore, how about going after the criminals. There is a reason why Philadelphia has a far higher crime rate than Phoenix, which is about the same size and in a state with similar gun laws. Phoenix has a lot more police per capita than Philly. In fact, police per capita is one of the biggest predictors of crime rate in large cities. Why not hire more police instead of harrassing law abiding gun owners?
it only takes one to do a massacre with people who buy more then one a month are collectors, and traders (you know shoot this one for a few days then try out another one)
Yeah, I meant to say I don't understand the purpose of the one a month limit. And now that I think about it reporting your gun stolen is pointless. Yes it clears your name but it doesn't get that gun off the street. He mentions stolen cars, if you've ever had a stolen car, you know that cops don't look for it. If it turns up during their patrol they let you know, that's it. Responsible gun ownership is the only solution. Plus the reason Erie's crime are up is cuz Erie is a dump now.

Get guns off the street - buy one for yourself.
Self defense is common sense and so is reporting a stolen gun.
Criminals prefer defenseless victims.
Ban criminals not guns!

I do believe that someone should report there gun stolen, that's just common sense. But limiting the purchase to one handgun a month wont do a thing.

The reporting of stolen firearms is understandable and I agree with that. No the one per-month law, I don't really see a reason for.
