I use Traktor Scratch, which is comparable to Serato and Final Scratch 2, however, you have the option of buying and using Traktor DJ Studio 3 as well (a really versatile DJ tool that runs off your laptop).
I highly recommend this setup if you're interested in virtual vinyl -- Native Instruments did a great job when making both.
I really like the DJM400 (that's what I use), and suggest getting at least technics or the stantons that i use (all equipment information is on the right).
I REALLY encourage people to think about getting a virtual vinyl system, though. Not only because I feel it's simply better (carrying laptop instead of crate, more versatility in sets, etc), but it's more financially responsible. I'll comment more in a bit...
I have ur same idea in my mind the only problem is that i can't spend 3000 euros for a dj gear...anyway now i'll check out ur mixer...if u know dj ravine, i would like to buy the same gea r that he have...
I just checked his gear -- never seen his mixer before. His decks are the straight armed version of mine) the STR8.150 -- I'd only get these if you want to scratch.
If you're on a budget and have a good laptop, I'd recommend getting Traktor Scratch, Traktor DJ Studio 3, and a Behringer BCD-3000. Unlike what Ravine says, you don't NEED turntables. Equipment doesn't define you, it's just a medium of expression.
Myself, I'll be getting into Ableton Live soon and setting my decks aside.
i love constructive comments so much thanks for taking the time to write them. just trying to get better set by set.
1. hmmm, okay i think i got it. i'll start experimenting with that more.
2. a) likely! good observation -- might be personal preference but i'll start experimenting with that more b) actually i ran this entire set through my headphones and didn't use the monitor at all c) that and i was sober. big time mistake :-P
Much thanks -- I'll check you out often. I've been experimenting with using a lot of loops to work with bringing in tracks. It's just a different way to use Traktor.
great keep it up bro want those decks but dnt have the money.amma get em amma save for em.

Well i think that if i have to bring with me a laptop to play with virtual vinyls, this is out of discussion...so i go for turntables...

2.There is something with your beat matching im not quite sure for the reason of it. But I have 2 idea.
A. You are mixing using the bass lines and that why you lack of precision.
B. You are mixing with one song on your ear, the other from the speakers, which could easily produce a lag between the two song which you cant notice.
or of course C. You get the stress from recording the video ;).

hmm I want to give some constructive comments and not sound too rude.
1.On the use of the Equalizer, in my taste, you kill the bass too much and you end up with too distinct high sound from the old song.
