One of my facorite films of all time, thanks for posting! In response to gashog, as a former addict myself, Ive always thought that the end symbolizes Bob getting re-addicted. Ive never been sure, its probably done that way to make you form your own conclusion.

Most authentic - written by a junkie for junkies. Note than when the neighbor junkie is introduced the sound track is playing The Count V's "Psychotic Reaction," nice foreshadowing. So does "Bob" die in the ambulence? Afterall the light goes off.  Ponder that.

One of my favorite films and a great movie. I must say I've never been a fan of Matt Dillon or his acting till I saw this film. No one could of pulled off the role as well as he did...a honest portrayal of the pleasures, and the dangers of the drug lifestyle. Casting William Burroughs as a elderly drug addict priest is pure genius!

Its one on my top ten best movies of all time. It has a unbias view of what drugs do. The blissful apathy and warm waves love and content. Then the emptiness and one way road self-destruction it ultimatly causes. Your only hope is an sobering epiphany to happen, that you have an self-realization of the pointlessness and hopelessness it all causes. Awesome movie.

Legendary film. I've heard about Drugstore Cowboy for years but I resisted seeing this movie because I thought it was "overly hyped".
