TARP was Bush's plan NOT Obama's. The proof is the fact the Swedish Banks went through this crisis in 1992 and the infusion worked to save the economy. (see Carter Dougherty article New York Times Sept 22, 2008). The proof is FDR had double digit growth every year but one. In 1936 the GPD set a new record and climbed until 1937 when FDR tried to scale back the New Deal for the Republicans to balance the budget and the economy dipped dramatically and rose when reinstated.

I'm a political science major at Northern Illinois University, and if you look at presidential history since Jimmy Carter, republicans have consistently spent more money than democrats when they are in power. Democrats have always had to attempt to balance the budget a little better than their predecessor.

Any reasonable person would have to agree with you, but you have to remember that hardcore conservatives don't believe in reason. Same thing goes for hardcore liberals, but the fact that conservatives feel that they are entitled to rule the country is infuriating, especially with what's gone on in the past 8 years.
