Check Joshua Nkomo's page on Wikipedia! the White Rhodesian Intelligence service planted weapons on land controlled by Nkomo's group and then passed this info to Mugabe's men playing on his paranoia fearing that Nkomo was trying to kill him he then started the 5 brigade to wipe out his opposition. the stupid idea to get both tribes to fight each other helped to make Mugabe even much more powerfull! if Nkomo was not set up by CIO Mugabe would've never gotten so lethal to white farmers.
