Oh, man...I totally fell in love with Peter Cetera when I first saw this video at age 12. I'm 37 now and my stomach still did a little flip-flop when I heard the opening beat!
mmmmm mmmmmmm tough ass classics like the olds/ f-100 kawasaki? cop cycles,......good lookin chick,.....damn good song,......... chased by the pigs ,..........hellacious adventure in search of love,..........what more can ya ask for? A DEFINATE HELL YEAH!
the video was actually not cheap at all... Chicago and producer David Foster had done acting and music for the 1973 film Fosters directed titled Electra Glide in Blue, which was a huge box office hit and now a cult classic!
Stay the Night is a take off on Electric Glide in Blue. Definitely a worthwhile film to watch.
Todays videos are standard formulaic and carry little substance in general but this is not to say that there are great videos being made outside of the "corporate box."
Bless the 80's, definitely the best decade of music videos! Surprised this song didn't even hit top ten, it was the first single released from Chicago 17. I'm sure the people wanted more Cetera ballads though. :)
yeah...i remember my 1st beer. too bad chicks used to wear their make up like cadavers. but it was all we knew at the time. hvnt seen this since beta tapes were around.
Actually, this was their 80's break out song. I remember the debut on MTV. It came out before all the 80's slow songs. Although those went on to be more popular then this song. When I hear Chicago all I can think of are 9th grade High School dances. Bon Jovi has that same effect.
...I love this!..Peter and the guys looked like they had the time of there lives doing this!..love that old car...and of course the beautiful woman was a good choice because she looks so mean!
Funny how this cheapie music video from 25 years ago has better stunts than modern Hollywood movies. People don't jump off fast moving vehicles anymore, they all use CGI and explosions. Real stuntman work is a thing of the past.
@Oddwun people had more guts back then. Many people now are afriad of little pin pricks and complain when a room is 5 degrees warmer or cooler than they want.
love those L.A. bridges too!! Too spectacular a vid 4 sure....and the motorcycle cops are hilarious, especially when they lip synch! I laugh everytime
true genius put into this one for sure....one of the funniest music videos ever...smile everytime I see this one...can't help it..this one and Along Comes a Woman....terrifico!!!
I can actually remember when this video came out. They played the hell out of it back then. I love Chicago. My favorite song was "I Remember the Feeling". I had the tape, but it got tangled in my ghetto blaster after a few years. How sad is that?
They really knew how to make videos back then. They were not only fun [and entertaining, which is what they aimed to be], but they had a great deal of thought put into them as well. It was more than just special effects [although there's a lot of pretty cool stuntwork involved in this one--plus the exploding truck]. Cheers for posting!
This was one of the last performances of the six surviving original Chicago members. A big mistake was made firing drummer Danny Seraphine and Peter Cetera voluntarily leaving the band. The two should rejoin Bob,Jim,Walt and Lee.
this track made me buy this on vinyl in 1984 i heard it on paul gambaccini U S charts show. amazing production by david foster and this song features an un credited jeff porcaro on drums according to an other youtube member. i love jeff this song is awesome and i think thats mike landau on solo guitar not chris pinnick chicagos' guitarist at that time. incredible album what,s not to like?
Terry Kath was the man and had the most wonderful voice. Just imagine how far Chicago could've went had he not died so young. No disrespect to Peter, but Terry's voice was just magical.
Oh man, people don't know the half of it. I loved these guys in the 70's! I saw them in the mid 80's and even though they were awesome Terry was deeply missed. Someone else took the lead on Color My World and killed it. Thank god we still have Terry's voice on CD!
At the time this wasn't even really my preferred type of music, but I remeber this being a great video. Man...those were the days...when MTV first came out...that's like the hallmark of all us GenXer's lives...isn't it?
yes i know what you mean as feeling ancient!!!!! what a great video , had a question lot of people wonder who is "that" girl in the video ? hummmmm just wondering
I believe that's Danny Seraphine the drummer at 4:05.
