  • I believe that's Danny Seraphine the drummer at 4:05.

  • Lol. What was he doing with that cutting torch under the car?

  • Oh, man...I totally fell in love with Peter Cetera when I first saw this video at age 12. I'm 37 now and my stomach still did a little flip-flop when I heard the opening beat!

  • i cant belive peter cetera nearly gets killed in this poor bloke lol she want worth it anyway i'd be just happy with the car lol

  • I like this song, but Peter was pretty much stalking this lady

  • Who is the actress in this video?!

  • this video kicks ass

  • palies kales apoxes!!!

  • mmmmm mmmmmmm tough ass classics like the olds/ f-100 kawasaki? cop cycles,......good lookin chick,.....damn good song,......... chased by the pigs ,..........hellacious adventure in search of love,..........what more can ya ask for? A DEFINATE HELL YEAH!

  • wabnt she Hot Chicago in Houston this Summer

    Cant wait

  • the video was actually not cheap at all... Chicago and producer David Foster had done acting and music for the 1973 film Fosters directed titled Electra Glide in Blue, which was a huge box office hit and now a cult classic!

Stay the Night is a take off on Electric Glide in Blue. Definitely a worthwhile film to watch.

Todays videos are standard formulaic and carry little substance in general but this is not to say that there are great videos being made outside of the "corporate box."

  • @pachacutti Thanks for the info..I will check out Electric Glide

  • TY Chicagocollectors.....I forgot about this song, made me smile a little

  • LOL The LA River has been the penultimate car-chase setting (Grease, To Live and Die in LA, T2).

  • Love it ...

  • Girl is so hot I've recently made the switch to blondes but she makes me reconsider ;)

  • As a car guy, I LOVE the scene at 3:39...This was a big hit single back in the day.

  • That's what men need. :P

  • Bless the 80's, definitely the best decade of music videos! Surprised this song didn't even hit top ten, it was the first single released from Chicago 17. I'm sure the people wanted more Cetera ballads though. :)

  • Ever notice in the video that Peter Cetera even sings Bill Champlin's lines too? They take turns singing this song and Hard Habit To Break.

  • One of the best videos i ever seen-and the girl!! 20 yrs later, i can still say that again...

  • I love this!...muscle car chase, and a mean and beautiful woman...

  • yeah...i remember my 1st beer. too bad chicks used to wear their make up like cadavers. but it was all we knew at the time. hvnt seen this since beta tapes were around.

  • This is the best 80's video ever.

  • I remember loving that cutlass...the video aint bad either

  • remember while i was in my born country catracho land love da video and da jeans we went craz x those

  • Actually, this was their 80's break out song. I remember the debut on MTV. It came out before all the 80's slow songs. Although those went on to be more popular then this song. When I hear Chicago all I can think of are 9th grade High School dances. Bon Jovi has that same effect.

  • ...I love this!..Peter and the guys looked like they had the time of there lives doing this!..love that old car...and of course the beautiful woman was a good choice because she looks so mean!

  • that poor olds.

  • this video is soooo cool even to this day!!!!!!LOL:)

  • This would make for a episode of "The Fall Guy".

  • not bat haha

  • Funny how this cheapie music video from 25 years ago has better stunts than modern Hollywood movies. People don't jump off fast moving vehicles anymore, they all use CGI and explosions. Real stuntman work is a thing of the past.

  • @Oddwun people had more guts back then. Many people now are afriad of little pin pricks and complain when a room is 5 degrees warmer or cooler than they want.

  • This is awesome! 442 Oldsmobile. That's the ultimate muscle car.

  • I owned '71 455 and that was a bad ass too. 442 is an ultimate classic. Aloha!

  • I owned two of these awesome cars. They were both stolen. One in Detroit and the other in Chicago. I gave up after that. Sigh.

  • Is that Cutty from House? LOL

  • is this the only music video they ever made?

  • @blacklungsjoe No, they made quite a few in the 80s actually

  • @blacklungsjoe No, but one of the few with Peter Cetera in them though.

  • it IS a funny video, i like it!!!

  • dont worry, i just rapped you

  • love those L.A. bridges too!! Too spectacular a vid 4 sure....and the motorcycle cops are hilarious, especially when they lip synch! I laugh everytime

  • true genius put into this one for sure....one of the funniest music videos ever...smile everytime I see this one...can't help it..this one and Along Comes a Woman....terrifico!!!

  • I can actually remember when this video came out. They played the hell out of it back then. I love Chicago. My favorite song was "I Remember the Feeling". I had the tape, but it got tangled in my ghetto blaster after a few years. How sad is that?

  • That is one persistent dude.

  • one of the best videos of all time.. still funny.

  • The vixen in the video is stuntwoman Debbie Evans.

  • @spiff6367 No it's definitely not Debbie Evans. That's the only answer I can find on the Internet but it's wrong.

  • @spiff6367 Wrong, it's not Debbie Evans

  • speaking of the 1980's I miss that decade i was a teenager in the 80's.great music too.

  • They really knew how to make videos back then. They were not only fun [and entertaining, which is what they aimed to be], but they had a great deal of thought put into them as well. It was more than just special effects [although there's a lot of pretty cool stuntwork involved in this one--plus the exploding truck]. Cheers for posting!

  • I love this song but the sound is MESSED UP on this video :O/

Up ...down, up..down. Some weird processing?

  • Used to listen to this album non-stop with my dad once upon a time. Awesome group never get tired of hearing these.

  • i think peter is still chasing that vixen.

  • Good memories...good times!

  • It's just the beat and mood of the real '80s. What a wonderful decade...

  • 1968 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 convertible. My all time favorite muscle car! Thanks for the vid!

  • This was one of the last performances of the six surviving original Chicago members. A big mistake was made firing drummer Danny Seraphine and Peter Cetera voluntarily leaving the band. The two should rejoin Bob,Jim,Walt and Lee.

  • First music video I saw on Mtv,we got cable in 85.Peter Cetera rulz!!!!!!!!!!

  • hellz fuckin coke whore!!!!

  • ♫♫♫ Buen video ♫♫♫

  • Wow, who's the milf?

  • I loved this song when I was a kid. Chicago is one of the greats for sure.

  • who could forget the cutlass? twenty five years got away from me somehow?

  • I had never seen this video before. I love Chicago 17 album which was my first album. Thanks!!!

  • sono sempre i numeri 1

  • MENDEL HIGH SCHOOL CHICAGO.

  • Jaaaa, que remembranzas de los años 80. En su época no me había percatado de lo divertido que es el video.

  • i think we've all felt that was about a broad at one time or another.

  • this track made me buy this on vinyl in 1984 i heard it on paul gambaccini U S charts show. amazing production by david foster and this song features an un credited jeff porcaro on drums according to an other youtube member. i love jeff this song is awesome and i think thats mike landau on solo guitar not chris pinnick chicagos' guitarist at that time. incredible album what,s not to like?

  • i have the single:-)

  • Good music but....

There aren't that many 442's left.

    Please do not kill them.

  • I believe the 442 in the video is alive and well.

  • i feel bad for the stunt guy =]

  • She is hot....Reminds me of the uptown girl video from Billy Joel

  • That woman is one of the hottest I have ever seen in my life!!!!!!!

  • Yep, one of my fave videos growing up too. Always turned up the single 4" speaker on our old console TV to the point I thought it would pop. =)

  • Comment removed

  • LOL they really had fun with this one, didn't they :) Love Chicago!

  • wicked driver! lol

  • GREAT!!!

  • Audio is alot slower than it should be,hence the song doesn't sound right.Very good song, just not in this video!

  • this was one of my favorite videos growing up . i just noticed the bearded guy working on the ramp looks like al from home improvment

  • Yes, he looks like Al from "Hör mal wer da hämmert" (German title for "Home imrovment")

    Its really a good song.

  • geniales Video, fürActionfreaks ^^

  • Chicago 17 is my favorite album ever. Cetera is a genius.

  • i've dealt with women with a bigger bitch sheild than this.

  • Great song but the truck blowing up part, badly done.

  • I love this band; people still make fun of me for that.

  • great song and awesome stunts. I remember when the video came out and thinking "the song is ok...the video ROCKS"

  • good looking woman and cool car

  • man peter cetera took chicago to really great places in my humble opinion.

  • que mujer tan bella me tiene loco beo el video nada mas para verla exotica i sensual mami los que estan a mi favor digan yooooooo

  • 1:32, that stuntman was hurt badly.

  • She's hot, he's a crazed stocker. Nice vid.

  • you mean "stalker"?

  • oops...typo.

  • This video had it all - the girl, the car, and the good tune. Definately had my attention when it first came out...

  • goddamn, I miss the 80's!!!

  • You and me both.

  • i like this song

  • rip brother

  • I'm more of a Terry Kath fan myself...

    ...but this is hot.

  • Terry Kath was the man and had the most wonderful voice. Just imagine how far Chicago could've went had he not died so young. No disrespect to Peter, but Terry's voice was just magical.

  • Totally agree!

  • I'm glad someone remembers when it was good business to be good vocally and have talent. I miss those days. Thanks for the good music, Terry!!

  • Oh man, people don't know the half of it. I loved these guys in the 70's! I saw them in the mid 80's and even though they were awesome Terry was deeply missed. Someone else took the lead on Color My World and killed it. Thank god we still have Terry's voice on CD!

  • Peter Cetera is basically a stunt stalker in this vid.

  • Always loved this video. The guy took a beating and still never backed up on his mission.

  • Ah yes, GM used to produce great cars at one time....nice that this video will help the Oldsmobile name live on in some way.

  • yeah

  • A 41 year old Gen Xer who just loved this vid in '83 (I think)!!!! This woman was out of this world!!!!!!!!!

  • ya...good LORD the girl in this video is so hot.

  • yeah, she is beautiful, and I am gay, so you know she hasta be hot for me to comment!!!

  • At the time this wasn't even really my preferred type of music, but I remeber this being a great video. Man...those were the days...when MTV first came out...that's like the hallmark of all us GenXer's lives...isn't it?

  • It's from Chicago 17, not 18.

  • Si no me matas de una vez voy a acabar asi; CE-VG (ojitos largos)

  • Hard to believe this is 25 years old!

  • 24 years old. Came out June 1984.

  • Uhhh, its 2009 now. 2009 - 1984 = 25.

  • funny how the women won.Loved the car,I would of loved to been the one driving that car...lol... I will win

  • all time classic

  • This music video is so cool! Peter cetera is too. I Don't care who u are, as long as u got a voice like his u have nothing to worry about.

  • aT 1:25 I'D BE ON THE PHONE...

  • I love the pounding that gets dished out to this 442.Man,what a freakin cool, crazy ass spin around at 3:33.Great song and video.

  • I heard the stuntman at 1:31 actually was hit in the leg by the truck.

Great classic video, thanks for posting!
