You're such a ray of sunshine. I'm glad things are working out so well for you. Right now I'm struggling to get in to a master's program at UBC in micro or molecular biology. What did you do yours in? I was actually sick for Christmas - perfectly fine until the afternoon before going over for Christmas dinner and I got food poisoning. Worst way to feel on Christmas (esp. while your family is exchanging gifts and eating great food). Glad they had a good Christmas at least.

@leeyuhhh ethnomusicology! you can travel and teach with pretty much any degree. if it isn't in teaching or english you usually need to do a TEFL program.

That sounds like so much fun. I haven't had a stressful experience in Korea though. I guess everyone is different--I do remember you talking about having an unpredictable head teacher, whereas the staff at my hagwon is really supportive and helpful. The CCTV was a strange idea to get used to, but I don't even notice it anymore. I mostly use it as a threat to the kids--"What did you just draw on the board?" "Nothing, teacher..." "Uh-huh. Well that nothing was caught on camera, you know."

@fizzylimon korea wasn't terrible it was just a lot more stressful and intense than thailand. the culture, the school, everything. it doesn't have to be bad to be comparatively worse.
