  • I dont know but, to become an actor you need above all! luck

  • What is the best age to get started?

  • @Nostro200 as young as possible.

  • hi well iam 13 years old and i might be asking for be an actor where do i have to go

  • Thank you so very much. Very aspiring. I have been looking for a photographer in Fort Worth Texas right now. And an acting school! =) thank you again.

  • Bless you for posting these vids to help encourage others. Even though I feel you'll go very far regardless, I'm still going to wish you well because I see a genuine and positive soul before me. I'm 40, but still look 30, with a look that's somewhere between Harrison Ford and George Michael and have thought about doing what you're doing, but there always seems to be important distractions in my life, and I worry about un unbalanced life. Love and Gods Blessings, Steve

  • Hey,

I´ve a question: Which are good talent agency in Los Angeles?

  • I love you!!!

  • Where did she go?

  • Great video!

  • You're great. Your attitude is exactly right. I work in casting and trust me, directors/agency/producers, etc., will want to spend days on a set with someone like you as opposed to an equally talented person whose attitude questionable. I've even seen actors with MORE talent get passed over for someone with less talent but who are more positive. Keep doing what you're doing...

  • glad to hear how far you're coming, and yeah I've heard about the look for the roles and you should have no trouble in that cause you're gorgeous.

  • Your marketing tool is your looks, you are HOT, you're totally gorgeous!

  • HOT!

  • So when can I take you out?

  • Thanks 4 the helpful insight!

It is all about image ,nepotism,& who you can blow.

  • I just came across your video today. I just took a class about starting a career in acting. By pure luck my first two roles without any acting classes were in a George Clooney movie called Leatherheads and now I am in a film called Gospel Hill with Julia Stiles, Danny Glover and Angela Bassett. What you said about networking and marketing yourself is one of the main success factors.

  • Acting , in my view, is a gift, is a talent. Either u have it or u don't, and u cannot acquire such a talent in any acting school. In acting school u can only improve the talent that u already have. And what do I mean by acting talent? A good question. By acting talent I mean convincing me, a viewer, that the way of speaking, behaving, and especially emotional behaving of an actor or actress in a movie, is like real, it should be like in real life.

  • I want to hump this chicks leg

  • She funny, cute, adorable and hilarious. totally out of my league. SO

  • I am a fucking actor. I act like off my gourd hehehehehehehe fuck all teh bitches

  • you remind me of tobias funke from arrested development. anyone agree?

  • I need ur help Lucy , I wanna be a porn star but my dick is just too small what can I do??? please help me!!!! Thank you

  • if ur dick is not enough for being a pornstar, u can use your ass. but this way a bit painy. but i guarantee if u use ur ass for being a pornstar, u will be a most famous pornstar ever. dont write uninterested comment to uninterested videos dude.

  • mmmm my ass I wonder mmmm

  • u need some bobs shots

  • headshots are essential... in counter strike. do i have any skills? Skillzz?! YEAH.

  • Why do actresses call themselves actors? Is that trade

lingo. You're not the only one who says that.

  • there's no such thing as an "actress" in the industry anymore. male and female performers are now "equal", so they're all actors.. i guess. that's what my actor friend said.

  • HI LUCY

Do you have a goal and a timeline for your acting

    career.Best wishes

  • Play yourself.You're already a star.Best wishes

  • acting is for fags. you should do porn. LIKE NOW

  • Jesus! All the guys posting under me are assholes. Lucy, thanks for the advice. I'm trying to become an actor. Maybe I should start a youtube blog, yours seems to be fairly succesful. Godd luck.

  • Nice hoots!

  • u need some bobs shots

  • Word.

  • Bob is awesome! I love Bob.

  • lol yeah bob lol

  • Looking Great ~

  • We know how YOU market your 'look' darling.

  • niceeeee BIG TIT's

  • hi

    u are beautiful

    will u marry me

  • Great video! good advice again x

  • Lucy u are seriously so beautiful <3

  • You have obviouly got talent Why dont you try your luck in the U.K. rednip28

  • Lucy, why dont you tape yourself actually acting different parts? Or, make short movies with your camera man friend that shows you acting in short plays or sketches and put them on youtube. That would be great promotion for you, we, the world, and the agents who go online can see you actually acting in different genres. We want to see you acting.Or, at least, I do. Visit me in Toronto sometimes. A lot of Hollywood movies are shot here.

  • lol. trüe.

  • probably of no interest to someone who doesn't want to be an actor

  • yeah thats so true, i recently got an agent and she was explaining to me all the essentials involved with the industry, the photoes and look is important for marketing and so is skill... but you gotta be carefull who you choose, this is really good advice, pretty much what my agent told me. this info is really good ppl... take notice :P

  • What about training? Don't you need training to be an actor? Isn't that kind of important?

  • Great Lucy to put such as these out to help others. I had thought some others parts were as important too, if watch tv or movies. I think your great, smart and for sure a hard worker. To end, the shirt seem have a button or two open showing some good parts too that helps with some casting.

  • ari gold on "entourage" should be your agent.

  • your advice is very good. Your energy is very good as well, and your boobs are great, great boobs. really great boobs

  • Evangeline Lilly, the actor who portrays Kate on the hit TV show Lost, was a struggling university student in Jan. 2004. Two months later, she was on the set of Lost in Hawaii. ( No previous acting experience ) I wish a similar Cinderella story on you.

  • Lucy, everytime I watch your blogs I think how amazing and talented you are. You are so unique and it makes me sad that you STILL haven't gotten a role in a movie. I can see you play so many different characters! Is there anyway we can help to get your noticed out there??

  • Lucy, don't bother with the haters. Don't waste your energy, you don't have anything to explain. Start now, when you get famous, you cannot care what others think!

    You have great energy!

  • Legalize Marijuana:)

  • Get the best photography you can afford, I can't emphasize this strongly enough..Just because a photographer does portraits doesn't mean they can do headshots..Lose a gig because you 'chinced' on a headshot, and you'll hate yourself..If you're serious expect to pay between $1500-4000 for headshots that transform producers and casting agents to take 'time' to really notice you & fight to find reasons to hire you..All of this only really matters--If you're serious..

  • Accidentally I found a video of Esmée Denters on YouTube. She is from the Netherlands. Have a look what she has achieved. I don't know how much the story is made up.

  • Nice interesting post! But, have you seen what happens if you put diamonds in a blender? Check it out blend.lostfrog 'dot' com

  • I like your videos. They are very interesting. Keep them coming.

  • Nice Video, should be really helpful to people trying to be an actor or actress.

Sounds like a tough business to be in.. Good Luck

  • it's interesting how much people read into things. here's a girl, simply speaking to the camera, giving her thoughts, her opinions and viewers want to place these assumptions on her. if she gives too much detail she's a know-it-all, if she is too vague then she's thought to be faking and a phony. I appreciate her efforts to put herself out here on youtube and to take a lot of the crap she receives from viewers.

  • I agree, though she's got a long way to go. She could start with educational/promotional material. Good voice, diction and easy on the eyes(better than some of the established stars). From what I've seen she could use more acting lessons. Move to New York girl!

  • thank you

  • I live in Vancouver,I know lots of people working in the film/movie industry. Most of them are UNION workers/Members.

You have to start at the bottom, work your way up...

They have to work up to 60 hours per week...

    sometimes 12 hours per day.

  • Wow. The first woman I've seen who looks better than me (I'm a dude).

  • How can you know what you are doing is right if you still have not gotten a job out of it?

  • 'actor' 'actress' - whatever, fuck, people fuss over nothing these days!!

  • nice boob

  • These seem really informative...thanks for putting in the time to make these videos..most people are only in it for themselves so it is refreshing to come across someone who is willing to help others...good job

  • Good video series... keep on plugging. You just might want to skip the head shot with the Notre Dame shirt. ND is the most hated school on the west coast esp. with the USC & UCLA folk!

  • your kind of annoying sometimes...but i have to say...i cant wait to see what you do next...thank you.

  • Nice public service initiative, Lucy :)

  • why don't you use the word ACTRESS???? you nutjob....I've watched alot of your videos....You refuse to use that word.. You can never be an ACTOR

  • Yes, I wish she would refer to herself as an actRESS too, but in fairness to her can you spell ' a lot' as 'a lot' and not 'alot', since they are two different words. The 'a' is an article like 'a' or 'the', and lot is ..well , lot. Like 'a whole lot of nothing'.

  • Yeah. Lucy is a SUPERSTAR!!!

  • Nicely done, Laura...keep up the good work!

  • BOOM HEADSHOT!! LOL

  • lol

  • i dont know how to say this without sounding mean/depressing you...but i just realized i first came across your videos over 6 months ago and it doesn't seem like you'e booked anything. do u have a "side"job?

  • Lucy, you are doing a great job on talking about how to get your foot in the door with acting. I know I'm learning a lot from your blogs and I hope you keep talking about it. I am curious. Are most auditions in the am and the afternoon's? What kind of job to take if wanting to act? A night time gig? I hear coffee shops and waiting table's are the best to have...?

  • more cleavage

  • Missed you Lucy. Been busy and haven't time for the net. Robert

  • Where's that fun, flirty and funny Lucy from when you first started blogging? :(

  • " It's P.C. because of the way it is spelled. It ends in 'or' which is gender-neutral. There was never a need for someone to coin "actress" in the first place.

(How do you say doctor for a woman.. doctress? I think not) " Though you make a good point there, Would you call a female teacher a teachress? No, so I think it is more random than that... I could be wrong though... I don't know.

  • regular job that can be a side line = WEED

your welcome from yours truly, LEON JEEKINS. check out my vids peace.

  • You could be an action hero running with boobs visible? (or?)

  • Great video!! The video was very informative. Keep the information coming.

  • OK, how 'bout this?

    Meryl Streep is an actor.

    Lucy is an actress (wannabee).

  • Meryl is an actress

    Lucy is a streep.

  • Brad pitt is an actress

Jamie lee curtis is an actor

    Lucy is a LA superstar

  • I find it incredibly pretentious when a woman refers to herself as an "actor."

Of course, Lucy has never won an acting role so the subject is moot.

  • Why is it pretentious?? Women can't have the same title as men? It's 2007. Let's move on.

  • Should we start referring to women as "he" or "Mr." or "sir"? Just because it's 2007 doesn't mean we should be suspending the basic rules of English usage and grammar.

  • Once again, there are no doctresses running around.

  • Even in 2007, women and men maintain significant sexual differences, check the anatomy book. One isn't better than the other but they are different nonetheless. Calling a woman an actress isn't necessarily a bad thing or women would be pissed to get the award for best actress at the oscars. As far as I know, it's still an honor. I did like your point about the term "doctor" being used for women, very similar indeed.

  • seriously, dont be an so assanine. the term "actor" refers to men AND women who ACT.

  • No, you fucking moron. Actor is a masculine noun, Actress is feminine noun. Don't believe me? Watch the Academy Awards next year and see who stands up for each category. I guess they are wrong too?

And the word is spelled "asanine." You know absolutely nothing, so just shut the fuck up.

  • bahah. get a liiife

  • Why are you giving advice on being an actor? You aren't an actor.

  • The definition of sweet.

  • You're beautiful!

  • well, your eyes and chin (and mouth) resembles natalie portman.

  • Why not participate in the "Youtube as one" gathering? It seems to be picking up steam with growing interest and coverage by the media. Something might come out of that for you or at least increase exposure.

  • I still don't know what I want to be. Well, I love to write, and I love to assist production staff, I love to change my voice, I love to sing, I love to write and create song lyrics, and I have an agent who doesn't help anyone. You will be a great actor before me :)

  • hey laura!

Oy, k, first of all, ignore all of the disgusting and/or mean comments that ppl leave. Ppl who say things like that are obviouslly messed up. You hair is so gorgeous btw! I'm sure these tips are really helpful to aspiring actors! Thank you on their behalf and keep up all your awesome work! :)

  • Lucy, isn't "actor" the term used when speaking about an acting male and "actress" the term for the acting woman?

  • I like to say "actor" for women as well. Why distinguish-- you don't call a female doctor "doctress."

  • Then why in the Oscars and IFC awards, is there a category for BEST ACTRESS?

  • That's correct. The OSCARS set the standard for performers in the film industry and they call women who act "actresses". Check the list of nominees, there is not one woman in the "actor" category. Touche! I also checked with some acting friends in New York and overthere they make the distinction between actor and actress. Well, whatever floats your boat, I'm fine either way.

  • No. I suggest you look it up in the encyclopedia. :)

The word "actor" may be used to refer to a male or female performer; this was the original use of the term.[1] Some modern style guides recommend using "actor" as a gender-neutral term for both male and females, regarding "actress" as sexist.[2] Some female performers prefer the term "actress", while others prefer "actor".

  • Thanks, I looked it up on Merriam-Webster. It said that an actress was a woman was is an actor. So perhaps the term is used interchangeably, it just sounds aweful weird, I guess I don't hear it enough.

  • Wow, an "actor survival guide" by someone who is not an actor.

  • Are you always such a retard?

  • Stop blowing smoke up people's ass all the time. I tell them as it is, babaca.

  • She has enough experience seeking acting gigs to share her vast knowledge with other actors to be. Besides, she's a nice lady. All her information is accurate, I know, I myself did a bit of acting. Stop harrassing YouTubers all over this site and get a life sir.

  • Harrassing? She posted a video and opened it for comments. If she doesn't want criticism she should keep her videos private or disable comments. Either way I don't give a flying fuck for your views.

  • Why don't you make yourself useful and perhaps make a video on how to lift heavy garbage cans and then dumping then into large garbage trucks. I'm guessing that's what you might do for a living judging from your comments here and on my channel.

  • Now you are saying that movie critics should also be film makers or that food critics should also be chefs. Just because she wants to be an actress and make it big in Hollywood does not make it so. Neither are you and if you do not have a thick skin, you should give up too. You know what I see? You are dumping your frustrations on me and others who dare to raise questions on why you failed on your life. I'm sticking to the issue and you are going for personal attacks. Grow up, dildo.

  • You said she's someone "who is not an actor". That sounds like a personal attack to me. If you are going to critize this very nice lady, why don't you critize the content of her video instead. My skin is very thick and I'm content with where I am in life sir. By the way, she's an actor not an actress, you ignorant goofball.

  • Wow, I would criticize the entire content of her video if she was an "actor", but she is not. No, you are not content with your life, you are an unhappy underachiever whining bitch. Next you are going to say that Bush cannot be criticized unless the critic has been president. By loser, I have other things to do besides trying to argue with a 7 year old whining little bitch.

  • Finish your twelve pack and go to bed sir, you're making a fool of yourself.

  • A lot of people ask for my advice on acting, that is why I started these type blogs. I'm just trying to help and don't think I'm an expert or anything.

  • Don't let the haters get to you Laura, you're doing a great service to anyone who aspires to be an actor. Great job = )

  • Here is a great advice for you 7seveng7: DON'T QUIT THAT WAITING JOB.

  • My only waiting job is waiting for you to stop commenting on this nice ladie's videos.

  • I think you give great advice. I do not want to be an actor, but I want to be a writer and it's always great to get the advice from an actor because these are the people who will make your character come alive. Plus, you are helping me learn Hollywood Lingo. LOL! Keep them coming! You are fantastic!

  • I guess I'll watch her talk about anything....

  • Lucy is perfect for a Reese Witherspoon movie.

  • She actually reminds me of Amanda Peet a lot more.

  • This is all really great info, thanks a ton Lucy!

And BTW, Youtube is prolly gonna be your medium to get your name out there. Already tons of people know you!

It won't be long until some Youtubian Casting Director dude finds you and realizes how amazing you are!

  • Repeat after me:

You want to be an ACTRESS, not an Actor!!

  • Get with the timessss dude, now it's called Actor both males and females. :)

  • in LA actor is 4 boys and girls

  • Sigh. I want to know who made up the word actress and kick them in the behind. Probably was a female.

  • Great advice =]

  • I miss you LUCYinLA? Remember ME?

  • lol, I'm in love with Lucy in the black dress headshot. She looks like a great leading lady for a Zorro remake? Maybe act next to "how you say",lol Antonio Banderas.

  • More cleavage, please.

  • Wishing you all the best! :)

  • acting does sound stressful

  • good info loved your headshots

  • How about telling those wannabe actors what the 3 major sites are where you submit your headshots? Also, I´d like to see a list of what you SHOULDN´T do or the myths of how to become an actor. Does stalking industry people ever work?

  • Great advice for those wanting to become actors. I enjoyed watching.

  • Your looking georgeous as usual Lucy.

  • Great info! :D

  • so, only those two moments would be great: before the audition.. we would be able to see the excitement: what's gonna happen there? And after: will I have a call back? Things like that. Well.. its just an idea. and again.. I want to wish u good luck in your project.

  • Hello Lucy. It was another great movie. Can I give you an idea for a further video? You could film the time before and the time after one audition. It would be interesting if you could film something inside the audition too.. but it is probably forbidden..

  • did you play anything in a film or commercial? Please put it on youtube !

  • Love the headshots. Send them to me !!!

  • Really helpful! Thanks Lucy (/Laura)! I never know what to call you. :) Love these vids, keep them coming xx

  • Some great info here; thanks, Lucy!

  • or you can save money and just sleep with the director

  • You know the old saying - those who can do, those who can't teach. You should consider making "how to become an actor" self-help videos, or be a teacher at an actors college or something. I used to think you werent a good actor until i saw ur last impressions video, that opened my eyes. But it sounds like you have been struggling so yeah i dont know hehe It just came to me.

  • I think you mean: Those who can't do, teach.

  • Yeah i should've included commas - Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Thats what i meant

  • Very cool Lucy, but! are you getting any acting jobs? How are you going with that?

  • great tips :)

  • the picture number 3 it's very hot xD where I can download?

  • I made a couple of video responses. Hope they were helpful. I put them under my response channel man1d2tran.

  • Can you list the three main casting websites you were talking about? There are lots if you google, but I'd like to narrow it down. Thanks.

  • thats what I'd like to know, a google search comes up with meaningless stuff.

  • LA Casting Actors Access and Now Casting

  • yes these are the three main ones

  • Very good video. Very informative. Thanks for trying to help other aspiring actors.

  • Interesting hearing these approaches =), but as an actor, what defines a good one?

  • Laura...AT LEAST you are showing your cleavage in this video. Please, please, please...in order to be noticed you need to show your big, round ass as well. Next video, remember, your big booty and your big breasts.

  • lol hahahaha.

  • I approve of this message lol.

  • Stupid horndogs. Grow up.

  • Yes- or do some Yoga like Cara from the NOHo girls does!

  • Hi.

  • if you would like to be an actor or actress it helps to be hot, right?

  • Why do you call youself an actor and not an actress? Is is P/C? I just think its odd. Not trying to be rude, just wondering.
