  • hey does anyone remember their names

  • HEY!!!!! Where's the video for, "Can You Treat Me Like She Does"?!!! Now that was a jam!! Written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis!!! Somebody ppllllleeeeaaassseeee post that one!!!

  • Awesome post! "Love Me Like This" entered the Billboard R&B singles chart the week ending 3/17/84 and peaked at #36 but missed the Hot 100 a.k.a. pop chart, according to the invaluable book "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Singles" by Joel Whitburn.

  • @mrberryv

"Candy (You Were'nt Too Sweet)" was another great song (produced by Leon Sylvers III) that had that Funky New Wave sound (like "Dead Giveaway" by Shalamar). I wish someone would upload that! It was the B-Side of "Can You Treat Me Like She Does."

  • Definately one of my favorite tracks of all time!!!

  • This was the jam back in the day

  • Isaias. Croon 3. Man, I used to see your name all the time on Leon Sylvers stuff as a writer. You a bad man!!!!!. I know you know my Goduncles, Gene Dozier and Keni St. Lewis. Hit me back and lets talk.

  • ...was disappointed that Real To Reel's album never dropped...wish the world could have heard " If You Really Want My Love" written by L. Hall and B. Watson (1983)

  • LOVE this!!!

  • Floating Points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :OOOOOOOOO damnnnnn

  • anyone kno where i can get this on mp3?

  • great tune takes me back

  • Their hairstyles are FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK, I listened to the Floating Points sample. Interesting, tasty. But it lacks the soul and groove of the original. Sorry -- but old school is best.

  • Tunes hard

  • Oh lord...look what I've found...this tune is da bomb!!!

  • These are the Leslie Brothers. Lead singer Mathew Leslie and myself went to Fairfax High School in LA. None of us new he could sing at all, and then after graduation...Bam!!!!!

  • @dublebah What year were you at Fairfax dublebah because I went there also 78-79. My name is Johnny Croon but at that time, it was Johnny Smith. I was a sophmore that year and I played basketball, and ran track. Hit me up because i think I was there with the Leslie brothers.

  • Lovin Dat Old Skool Skank -- Big Groove!

  • The reason they remind you of the wispers is because the writer that wrote this song also wrote for the wispers; LeRoi Hall

  • I loved this song! Good memories! Excellent choon!

  • .........sad there's been no 'pass down' within the so-called Black culture/family/society. disconnects of all types exists continue causing larger gulfs, fractions and nothing seems strong enough to bridge these gaps. as Robin would ask Batman "what now Batman..what now"?

  • @blqceaser i'm guessing you're white.

  • mr. edmonds was taking notes on this, no doubt, 3:35 very smooth

  • love it.top classic, when i first heard this i thought it was the whispers?i bet i,m not the only one though?...keeping it FUNKY...

  • Classic Solar sound.

  • Sounds like it could have been recorded by Dynasty.

  • love this boogie, this is the source!

  • Wow! What a band this was...their sound was like no other....no way I can get enough of this.

  • PS--forget all about floating points' "version"--it BEARS NO RELATIONSHIP TO THIS SMOKIN'CUT!! who are you --their manager or some thing? don't ride coattails-do your OWN SHIT!

  • Respect

  • I hear what you're saying everready59.....but remember that there's a whole new generation that NEVER heard Real To Reel, or have any clue who Leon Sylvers is. I'm fortunate to have been around when this came out. I think in this day and time we need to close the (age) gaps, and stop knocking the youth, and share what we know. Think of Floating Points as a bridge connecting then, and now. Peace 2U!!!

  • 3 guitars - wow! Delectable groove with smooth bass.

  • The 80's Were Amazing Times On THE SOOOOOOOOUUL TRAAIN!! 8])

  • Why was there never any album? I waited and waited....like most of us did. I'm stuck with two outstanding 12" songs. Thanks anyway.

  • Some of these super-talented guys just straight disappear ... there are many reasons - record label/industry drama, personal problems, egos, tragedy ... these guys would do well today. The talent is there!

  • Checkout Floating Points dubbed out version c/o R2 Records in the UK. Absolutely smashes it!

  • im pretty sure leon sylver was working with both r2r and shamalar at the same time.

  • I've been looking all over for this song! Thank you!

  • Great tune, I still have the import 12" from 1983. Sadly neglected song over in the UK, but big in the north west of England.

  • @sewitt60 big in the south east of England too - on all the pirates and in the clubs for weeks-Robbie used to drop it on Radio 2 too Saturday dinner times if I remember correctly or it could have been Jeff Young

  • They had a single and video back in 1989,

November I believe. I cannot recall the name of it .

  • This was my Jam back in the days. I was looking for the album but I never saw or heard of them again.

  • The lead singer sounds very similar to Marcus Miller don't you think?

  • I can say you have good ears

  • This was a slamming cut back in the day. Did these guys ever release an album? Man they had a nice sound!

  • They were due to release an album, after they dropped this single, but for some reason it never materialised, which is a shame because I have a feeling that it would have been off the hook.

  • That's a shame that they didn't release an album. Atleast they provided to good singles.
