  • He felt embarrassed because it was cheesy. I am a big McCartney fan but his ego often transcends his talent.

  • agreed Crewscaine---Best days and Wings were brilliant bar none !!!!---Oh to be a musical genius like PM

  • Very perfect and nice video. :)

You always are my idol Paul. <3

I love almost all his career to date.

    I really like you. :)

  • London Town is amazing! I cant wait for the remaster in 2012!

  • The mime is Victor Spinetti, from their films.....

  • @Broadway789 Yeah

    Yeah!

  • the album that probably inticed john lennon to make doble fantasy, because london town was so great??

the best mccartney record i know!

  • How right mate! Today's music is all the same, no more effort to put down some consistent and meaningful lyrics... My favourite piece is "Deliver your children"

  • Anew video clip - look for: alony10

  • Macca and Wings hit #39 in Billboard, 10-14-78. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, the lovely Linda.

  • Great song and video.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Brings back memories!! ..... Morse Moose and The Grey Goose!!!!!

  • Wow haven't heard this for years.

  • Great music, but the video is weak.

  • Macca is comming soon to Perú, he is going to settle down here, the best place to be in, my country!! PERU, the best place to eat, kindly people, lot of water

  • Pauls songs make me happy. I cant think of another songwriter/singer with a consistently positvie outlook coming through his music.

  • Always thought this song really stank. He's a great musician & producer but like Lennon he died creatively in the early 70s, some nice ideas here and there but mostly bland dross that sold & sold & sold. The difference with The Beatles was that public opinion & good taste met for a time. Wings were an awful band.....

  • @dutchgoing

ah there are a few gems there Ram On is not to bad and Lennon hit his peak with Imagine, but i agree theres an awful lot of filler in between from them both but you can't just write the guys off

  • @dutchgoing Im so happy that the rest of the world , about 99% doesnt agree with you.

Wings were a creative band and their classic songs will live on for a long long time.

  • @bardo0007 And where is this 99% opinion recorded exactly. Why is it important for you to validate your tastes by being in thr majority. If you like something or not then you do or you don't. You seek conformity because it is safe and you don't have to think.

  • I'd love to be in London in the crisp and cold rain rain!

  • is paul wearing a petticoat under his long jacket?

  • What a wonderful song, and a lovely video with Linda. TIme. how it passes.

  • 35 people don't like London...

  • I hate Wings because I love The Beatles! (But I love Paul McCartney :*)

  • @basikstokrotka How in the hell does one hate Wings? I love the Beatles and Wings. Take each band for what they were.

  • gotta love dennie laine aka brian hines

  • Why does Denny always look like he's suffering through the videos?

  • @carryxmextoxthexend must have been Linda's musical(!) talent

  • @carryxmextoxthexend Because he was suffering in Wings.

  • Thank you, JJ4518, for unearthing this forgotten, evocative gem from the depths of antiquity!

  • Paul and Beatles just needed a good movie director.

  • "Thank you Sir Paul, for all of the wonderful memories, from your home town!"

  • @karmatoga Macca isn't a Londoner. lol

  • @dutchgoing

    "Sorry, I thought he was!"

  • haha how cute paul doing a little dance XD

  • aaaa!!!!!!!! i loooooooooove paul!!!!

  • The real king are Chuck Berry.....Then P M.

  • @robinkatt Chuck Berry is the inventor of R&R.. Paul is its King.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic Bill Haley had the 1st Rock song

  • I always liked this better than With a Little Luck. . .but that's just me.

  • I know paul is pretty short so Denny must be like 5ft tall

  • UM FAZ TANTO TEMPO, ME LEMBRO Q UM AMIGO ME EMPRESTO O VINIL, MUIINTO BOM

  • Hell yes

  • 3:36 LMAO

  • Fortunately it was restored on The McCartney Years.

  • Maudling ......

  • I think Mccartney was better without the beatles.

  • @1dgkonig I think you should be president. Paul & Linda were way better than Paul and John

  • Maybe he missed walking anonymously at London Town...

  • I just love this..............

  • OMG had this in 8 track...takes me back. Actually one of my favorite Wings albums

  • Actually, its a good song. Musically, it has some very interesting changes ( I have the sheet music to prove it). Very underated album.

  • Okay, Paul and Denny... follow Linda. Which ever way she sways, go that way. It isn't that hard. Very cute video.

  • Paul has greatness, I'll admit. This stinks as a song, and is possibly the most embarrassing video I have ever seen.

  • 1:40 the mime is Victor Spinetti???

  • Wow, I sort of remember that from several decades ago but boy was that crap to watch again, lol. Toot toot toot toot, LOL yeah. Imagine there's no heaven....

  • the reason why I like this one is because I have been to London and England and enjoyed my visits. I managed to get to see all the sites on the walking tour and on my own. These days I am rather skint and simply cant afford to go anymore. Regardless this is another favorite of mine.

  • @windycitygal1000

    wow....interesting

  • those were truly the days-the only woman he will truly love in his life, Linda McCartney, and his best bud from wings Denny Laine i had all the wings lps, grew up with their music, they made very good, but hard to find music now

  • you can find every wings album on CD on amazon , even most of them available on vinyl and cassette.

  • @crewscaine1 I like Wings music too, but it's not so hard to find. Just download..

  • @crazziejoe yes your crazzy actually. funny really!

  • Wow Paul has done some rubbish songs.

  • @stevenoc

    I THINK SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!

memory almost full on that day

  • you dont even get the full magic of macca in the song but its still fantastic!

  • people will argue forever with me about this , however..... Paul WAS the inspiration of more fukin songs than John Loser Lennon........... woops I shouldnt have said that.......

  • @floridajeet trololo

  • Sweet video. Paul looks like a million bucks in his hat. Paul always finds a way, doesn't he?

    High marks for creative delivery..

  • its wings doin "a day in the life",..a bit

  • Obscure video ? What does it mean ?

So what is and ordinary video ?

Macca decided that time make this kind of video.

There is no strange in it. That´s it.

    A very good song.

  • Before the Beatles did it - and in fact even before the Beatles EXISTED ! - about one hundred clips were recorded of songs for a kind of movie jukebox named the "Scopitone". Many of them can be found on the Net today and there is a "Scopitone" article in the french Wikipedia. However, standard film was used at that time, because magnetic recording was less pratical at the time, which changed in the late seventies. I am not sure whether the Beatles were or not in magnetic format, or regular film.

  • huh?

  • Wonderful!

  • Great song, weird video! Same goes for George's excellent '79 song Blow Away, which has him sitting on a big furry pig or something! Guess videos weren't seen that much by people in the late seventies, so more of an afterthought than a serious PR move.

  • Thing is if you research you'd see that the Beatles were the first to use video. In other words they may have been the first to have actual musical videos from a production standpoint.

  • i love this song but its so underated

  • Wow, Linda dances as well as she sings!

  • Now, now ...

  • is that guy playing the "out of work actor" Victor Spinelli aka the director for HELP!?

  • Sure looks like him

  • Comment removed

  • Victor Spinetti is in this music video, however he didn't direct Help or Hard Days Night for that matter. That honor goes to Richard Lester. Victor Spinetti was an actor in both films, and magical mystery tour :)

  • @beatlegirl85 oh yeah, great actor!!!

  • Is Paul Waering Woman's Lingerie at the end?? I was confused when I first saw that..I thought he was flashing us..but no.,..It's Lingerie...

  • mccartney is a genious

  • @utdkidswife1 You're so right!!!

  • @utdkidswife1 You know who are real geniuses those that can spell GENIUS!

  • @utdkidswife1 Well, we can all see your no "genious".

  • Wings did create some great pop songs didn't they? Nice arrangements and harmonies.

  • is that Linda in the middle?

  • Denny laine always looks like a 3rd wheel in these vids

  • Because he was?!

  • I know. Lawl. I think this video gets hilarious at the end.and they have Denny doing something!

  • i just love that album, and have it on vinyl.I love and remember all songs from it.

  • same here:-))

  • A (very) talented "cunt" then...I doubt Lennon ever said that though...

  • Why would you agree .., do you know him personally? John also considered him a brother and like all brothers they had disagreements.

  • Band on the run is his best...correction : the best album ever !!!...as simple as that..

  • SOme great stuff on Band on Run but I prefer Ram overall.

  • That looks like Victor Spinetti at 1.41

  • yeah, just like wikipedia says: "Spinetti would later make a small appearance in the promotional video for Paul's song, 'London Town', off the 1978 album of the same name."

  • Cheers Mate

  • Not my favorite album from Macca - that would be Venus and Mars followed very closely by Speed of sound. The words are great on this album, I just think the music lacks a bit.

  • Have to disagree with you there mate

I think its got some great tunes on it, but hey, each to their own.

  • i had totally forgotten this song. thanks youtube and jj4518. its a little gem!

  • i love this song

  • you should watch this on the "mccartney years"-dvd, together with paul's commentary! very funny!

  • do the macca dance!

  • Blimey, Macca must have splashed some cash on this video!

  • I was in 7th grade when this song came out,,brings back memories

  • OMG me too... it's still my favorite....I wore out the vinyl!!!!

  • Rather odd how they don't play anything from "London Town" on the radio in Canada. This album wasn't exactly obscure. It was a big hit . I haven't heard this song in years. One of his better ones. I never saw this video when the album was released in 1978. My God! Over 30 years ago!

  • The real king of pop!

  • You said it!

  • though not the rights on the beatles songs .

  • @clubhouseme: it´s a joke?, no?

  • That's Victor Spinetti as the mime. He was in the Beatles films.

  • The song is great but the clip is stuiped!

  • ha! I love the high "flute" in the first verse!

  • What many people don't realize about Paul is that he is a fearless artist. He's a genius, a virtuoso musician, a tremendous live performer and many things beyond, but at his core he is a creative force. As such he creates with abandon, things that are good, things that are not so good, and all the strange and beautiful between. He just pumps it out and lets it go. A lesson for all of us stifled folk,as 99 percent of anyone we ever meet is. Cramping their own style.Let it fly like Paul!

  • well said!

  • What a great comment-someday there will be Volumes written on this artist as to all His creations;Through decades, /thats if the world or us survive all this nonsense ...There is much today of competing, copying ,ego based stuff. making and playing to the music is paramount whatever you do/play. take time ,learn, naturally, w/ much listening.. What............

  • What a strange and surreal video. I never realized how strange the lyrics actually are- always focusing more on the atmosphere. The production quality is positively Beatlesque in a bad, Magical Mystery Tour way.

  • Feels like I'm the only one who likes this video. Maybe I'm strange as this video :D

  • you're not the only one.

  • Whatever happened to Denny Lane?

  • Xaxaxaxaxaxaxa Wilsonhenson!!! :):):)

  • Denny Laine is thinking "Why am I here?"

  • I was thinking the same thing.Strange video,great tune.

  • I remember seeing that as a kid on the Kenny Everett Video Show. Wow. I remember the balloon guy. I just had to track this video down again... the memory was haunting me all evening! :)

  • PAUL IS GREAT! Wings Awesome. :D Jess

  • I LOVE WINGS!!!

  • strange vidéo .

  • He lost the end of this music.

  • Very sentimental song.Great 1970s fashions!.

This song was the same year as 'Baker Street' which is very similar.

  • No, but a great tune and proof that a pop/rock song doesn't have to sound profound to be a classic.

  • What I meant was the video was not the best quality. The song is awesome; it's one of my favorite solo Macca songs. I know there's a better quality video out there somewhere.

  • Why is the Joker in this? LOL

  • pearl has on a pettycoat!

  • It would be nice to hear "I lie around. Does anyone it? All I have is a sratchy old 45 rpm.

  • Denny and Linda were members of his band, why wouldn't they want to be there? Classic Paul!!!!!!! The last notes are haunting, from Because by the Beatles. Perfection!!!!!!!!

  • This album is sooooo underRated!

  • A good song.

    A very strange video.

  • Alright, I haven't resented:) I just haven't understood what you meant:) Of course I would've accepted it too! So, Denny, if you don't want...

  • Denny does NOT want to be there lol

  • I wouldn´t mind replacing him

  • Why???

  • Oh, sorry. It´s because mithme said "Denny does NOT want to be there lol". So if Paul had invited me to be there, I would´ve accepted it. And I would´ve had a great time!

  • What's with the flashing at 3:36?

Is that some sort of weird underskirt?

  • Paul is soooo handsome....<33333

  • Paul was the beautiful guy of the Beatles.

But maybe more important thing is that

he has made more good pop- melodies than

anybody else. Like this one, too.

  • why didnt they just film a video like the cover neart londons tower bridge or somethin... this video is so depressing haha

  • What a crappy video for a good song from an all around great Wing album. The only thing this video was good for was showing how sexy Denny Laine was back in the day !! I was in junior high and had a HUGE crush on him !

  • I don't agree. The video is maybe not ideal but it brings the athmosphere of the song.

  • great song but bad video, they could make it much better

  • I meant that a long green coat suits Denny perfectly!!

  • I also!

  • Yes, and a long coat suits him well, I think:)

  • Hey, Paul wanted her there, that's okay.

  • great weird tune, great lyrics, weird video

    very creative

    excellent!

  • I don't like the sound. Something about the quality, not the song itself really. The weird way they're walking in tiny little steps is making my eye twich.

  • :) maybe the tiny steps are because the set is so small. Didn't notice until you said
