there aint' no better! another thing is: I saw Kate singing on this song! being a fan so long, (THirty THree YEars!) you'd think I'd know better, but it's not just Cindy (still my fave pop singer) who sings leads. there unison singing is so even that it sounds like the same person...twins poppers. And Kate on key bass? that's what I play and I love it. this is a killer rendition of one of their best tunes: this was back when we were joyfully worrying if they had just escaped from..........Idaho?
The bass was always played by Kate on keyboards. Ricky modified his guitar with bass strings to trick the difference and discovered the surf guitar sound that spawned grunge rock. RIP Ricky Wilson, beautiful boy genius, still in the hearts of those who love you.
Seems this was performed way before anyone heard of them or the song. The crowd seemed unimpressed when the song was announced. The sound is raw but real and they were fantastic. They really could sing and play real instruments.

That was GREAT! We didn't realize Cindy could sound just like Kate. Cool to see the old stuff back then. :-D

@EmpressBand It would be well worth figuring this out. She is every bit as good as Kate! Listen to more B52s you will clearly see she is amazing!

I think your right! I think this was performed right before the wild planet album came out. This song was a big hit as soon as it came out.

yeah, I just noticed that klude looking headstock. Why does Sears do stuff like that?
lutherheggs 4 years ago
Yeah, Just look at that horrendous headstock. Worst headstock I've seen in my life but the guitar can't be bad if Ricky Wilson was playing it.

The guitar is a Slivertone.
