  • did he say "usb 2 porno connectors"?

i like the sound of that.

  • $350?!

    Nyuuuuuuuuuhhhhgggggggfffffvvvvvvv

  • Science sponsored by Jesus? strange connection no?

  • Not really... The Society of Jesus, or the "Jesuits" (my religious order) runs 28 colleges and universities, and 62 high schools in the United States ALONE. 1/3 of the craters on the moon were discovered by Jesuits and pretty much everything we know about weather and climate is due to the Jesuits.

If you want to know more, just visit Jesuit(org)

    .

    Peace,

    Fr. Robert

  • would a be able to install JRE, and run Java programs on a NAS?

  • It's "NAS" not "NAZ"...ugh.

  • Solid NAS for the money. Much better value than a Drobo!

  • so its like time capsule for windows?

  • Time Capsule is just a piece of backup software. Most NAS systems are software agnostic, meaning that you can use whatever backup software package you wish.

  • and hardware

  • well... kinda... Time Capsule is marketed as a piece of Apple hardware (wireless base station, etc.) but it is really just a software utility built on a NAS device.

Most NAS devices (ReadyNAS, Turbo Station and the like) have some sort of auto-sync backup software (replicator, retrospect) but the software isn't dependent on the hardware and vice-versa. Apple just happens to more tightly package their software with a hardware solution.

  • Well, not quite, Time Capsule, for Macs is a pretty good deal that I do not think Windows has anything similar that comes with the system ... that I know of. I hate dealing with Windows, backup and restore. I can be 100% secure and up and running in seconds with a clone backup and Time Capsule.

This thing only has 2 drives so it is not for me, I've got the TS409, and 2 ReeadyNAS's. Also, the software maintenance is problematic if you are not into messing with this, and very poor support.

  • It looks like something I can use.... Where do I get it?

  • Loved it. This would really come in handy for my wireless network.

  • Great as always.

    I might actually buy this.

  • is this a little lanbox type portable computer of is it just a hard drive?

  • It's really a little computer. It handles the RAID, webserving, backend database and multimedia streaming on a linux computer.

  • Sounds fine to me. Keep up the great vids. XD

  • hey man, long time since we last spoke, anyway its kinda hard to hear you lately, do you think in future vids you could come closer to the mic, i mean if you can cus i love your vids i just cant hear them too well

  • Hey psyfertech,

Thanks for the support --- unfortunately I can't move any closer to the mic without risking pops, but I can try turning up the gain. I'll try that for the next few episodes... let me know if it works. Peace, Fr. Robert

  • cool yeah i figured it had a button but i didnt want to say it and it not have one and you know, lol but yeah that should work, or just turn it up in your editor but that usually results in too loud for the speakers or something and it makes it sound crappy and i know you dont want that

  • you rock dude!!!

  • great review!

  • No-one cares if you get the first/second comment.
