The story of the Chinese Zodiac and how the animals were picked, and why the Cat was excluded has many variations. This is the most famous one. So. No, I did not lift this from Fruits Basket. Just because I chose one that is similar to the story of Fruits Basket, which is also based off of the same story, doesnt mean that I got it off of there.
