  • Fantastic recoil control of a fucking pistol .223....not so fond of this weapon system myself, but still....nice control.

  • Lol what a tool!!

  • Thank you for one handing it every one else thinks Itl bite

  • .223 (5.56x45mm) for 5ft?

    Nuh Uh...it doesn't make sense.

I guess it would be nice for playing with at the range but impractical for any other use.

And do you always yell "Gun!" at paper targets?

I like to sneak up on mine.

It's better to see them all surprised and shit when I shoot them.

  • Now thats acurate shooting

  • since its a pistol can u carry it as a concealed pistol or open carry like a pistol?

  • @bossman12334 you can open carry a rifle lol

  • @dfhrandall lol i know but u cant conceal carry a rifle loaded here but better if its a pistol for practical use with my CCW but ya i would open carry my ak sometimes if i needed it :)

  • love the gun isnt it kinda pointless withOUT a stock and foregrip?

  • @kingbigdawg9 It's a way for the civilian market to legally get their hands on a short rifle by calling it a pistol. It's dumb really. I mean, it's dumb where the law is written that a short rifle is illegal but this isn't? I think it's better if they just forget about it and allow short rifles. I bet most people who bought the PLR has already slapped a but stock on it.

  • @MavHunter20XX I would not do that. That is dealing with Fed law no fun................

  • @Sigp229TRT I know, me neither.

  • @MavHunter20XX Our laws are pretty fucking stupid. The only thing keeping these things legal without the right tax stamp is a damn name technicality.

  • @darkhalo153 the laws are dumb but are probablty some of the best in the world look atthe uk no hand guns ot semi autos higer than .22 i'd rather have that than readily availible supressors

  • I hope you have it registered as an AOW, considering it is a pistol and has a folding vertical grip.

  • Why do you cant? Does that help with recoil? I saw one other do this once.

  • WOW awesome range on that i didnt thimk they could shoot such a long distance! must be the Austrailian police sniper training school!!!!!

  • why would anybody need or want a horrible assault weapon such as this, if there just a civilian ....(J.K.)...Ive got the PLR-22 too, fantastic weapon platform!

  • I just got one. the muzzel blast is incredible ! I NEED the muzzel break! and for grip!

  • I just learned of this gun today and ordered one to my local shop at a great price 399.99 and out of State so no sales tax, after finding out it was a gas piston and unlike the AR15, I was instantly sold .By the way good job on a rapid fire demonstration aside all the jokes of you being near sighted.

  • what are you doing in afghanistan? guarding the chow hall?

  • And that´s what an overkill looks like.

  • I think he's dead... Lmao

  • Actually Maryland just pass the law. I'm getting one next week.

  • nice im thinking of getting one it's 450 bucks... is that a good price ? funny every time i get a new gun i come to youtube for help...lolll

  • @brian97038 i got u for 350 plus w.e shipping would be

  • love to have one, but I live in one of the commie states. Maryland!! place sucks.

  • thats a great every day concealed carry weapon ahhha

  • Dam man. Hope u hit something. That was pretty far away. Should have just cut the target with ur knife. Better yet, throat chop his ass and save some $ on ammo. Nice vid bro.

  • @IPDSystems I saw what you did there

  • @imacollier sorry to burst your bubble but gun fights in America happen at this distance when its dark and its you and some chump in your hallway at night, its not call of duty with your 50 cal.

  • Dam man. Hope u hit something. That was pretty far away. Should have just cut the target with ur knife. Better yet, throat chop his ass and save some $ on ammo.

  • its awesome to see someone be proficient with this firearm. unlike most of the idiots on youtube who hip fire the friggin thing

  • @saxmanplaya: LOL! It actually could have a place in close-protection work given the proper setup.

  • The guys who take this stuff so seriously are hilarious.

  • with red dot and AP ammo it could be amazing PDW

  • @ww2footage: I was using an EOTECH on it, but took that off for use over here in Afghanistan. It worked great.

  • could you stand any closer to the target? lol

  • @glockzup: I COULD, but then I might as well just Pistol Punch the damn thing! LOL. (this clip was just to show the recoil control aspects of C.A.R., not the accuracy of the weapon...which I DO want to check out when I get back from Afghanistan.)

  • @IPDSystems LMFAO.....now I got to see you pistol punch a target!

  • Center Axis Relock luv that position

  • i love this gun

  • @thearmysucks04: It's not bad for what it is and the low cost.

  • @IPDSystems yea, i paid 5 for mine wit the red dot and the hand grip on it

  • kinda hard to miss at that range eh? :p

  • @greenvaepor: Yep! (I could have done the video at a longer range, but since you can't see holes in the target at this resolution anyway, there would be no benefit.) Regardless, the video's purpose is to highlight the recoil reducing efects of shooting C.A.R. Thanks, Bryn

  • @IPDSystems

Ahh, I figured as much, i was just razzing ya, that's an awesome pistol none the less, I've been thinking about picking one up, but I have sensitive ears and getting a can here is so troublesome. Does that brake help with the shooter's perception of the muzzle blast at all?

  • @IPDSystems

Was just razzing ya, looks like it does a good job none the less :)

  • That is not a pistol that is cut down assault rifle according to the law there is no such thing as a pistol only handguns and rifles. the basic legal definition of a handgun is a short weapon lacking a butt-stock and designed to be fired with one hand something that is not done with group a cut down rifles called "pistols".

  • @magicdark725 no you are wrong on every single account........ and you came in here talking like some know it all lawyer........ ur so silly!

  • @elitesack I talk like that because it is true, that is Federal Law, I see too many people being more loyal to state then country and that scares me.

  • @magicdark725 Well then you my friend are a patriot. However i highly advise you to understand one thing above all others in this category: This country is the beacon of the earth, and the ONLY beacon of the earth, to promote the freedom and absolute freedom of the people within, and this freedom has been getting beaten down, i highly advise against supporting any politician, Ron Paul speaks good things, and may be a good man, but they will never allow him in this day and age to make choice.

  • @magicdark725 If you are a young person please approach such issues with the utmost of an open mind, lest you continue in the flawed path of our recent fathers and support any political agenda, because that in itself is a flaw, unsustainable, and a lie. Being an American, the entire purpose of being an American, is to promote our rights as human beings, nothing more, nothing less, so a little piece of a pistol seems hardly anything to argue about.

  • @magicdark725 Why? That's how it was to start.

  • @flylid How was what to start?

  • @magicdark725 we're united STATES. The states need to start regulating the how much power the federal gov. should have.

  • @flylid Yes we are UNITED states, notice the UNITED part comes first. This country has already had one time when the federal government had no power over what the states did and that failed in under 10 years.

  • @flylid I didnt say no power, I said REGULATED power. I dont think there's anything wrong with some state pride and loyalty....just not mine, I live in Cali, lol

  • @magicdark725

"That is not a pistol...." -

False, it is absolutely, a pistol.

"that is a cut down assault rifle according ot the law..."

To what law? There are several laws, that which may declare something an assault rifle, these are not necessarily correct.

"there is no such thing as a pistol..."

I beg to differ: 18 U.S.C § 921(A)(29) specifically uses Pistol and sets a definition FOR pistol.

  • @magicdark725

"The term “Pistol” means a weapon originally designed, made, and intended to fire a projectile (bullet) from one or more barrels when held in one hand, and having:

    a chamber(s) as an integral part(s) of, or permanently aligned with, the bore(s);

and a short stock designed to be gripped by one hand at an angle to and extending below the line of the bore(s)." - atf.gov

    U.S. Code referenced from atf.gov.

  • @magicdark725

The PLR-16 IS a gun, which fires a bullet from a barrel, with a short stock designed to be gripped by one hand at an angle to and extending below the line of the bore(s).

"... that is not done with a group cut down rifles called "pistols".

PLR-16 is NOT a cut down rifle, IT IS by law, a pistol, as it was built on a virgin receiver AS a pistol. That means it never had a stock, which would be required to declare it a rifle, legally.

  • This seems more like executive protection type training. I can't see that type of overkill unless there is someone of very high value being protected. If that firepower was unleashed on a BG with soft point or hollow point rounds there would be nothing but a steaming pile of mush left. I am not opposed to that in the least though.

  • CAR does excell for EP / close protection dutes, and I merely unleased the full mag just to show the recoil control the system offers. (But sometimes mush IS the desired endstate....)

    Bryn

  • seems silly to hold it by grip only

  • I agree but its maybe reflexes? this pistol can be held M4 style too.

  • Perhaps true, but it highlights the recoil-control of using the CAR System.

  • uuhhhhh!! thats fuckin awesome:) i didnt even know they made it in a 'pistol'.. i got the kel tec 223 rifle.. ima get me 1 of those!!

  • I heard these things short barrels are SUPER loud, to the point that using them even in a defensive scenerio will cause immediate permanent hearing loss.

    How true is that?

  • no:) but prolonged use of it without ear plugs might.. anytime u fire a 223 without earplugs ur gonna lose some of ur hearing temporarily. but if you gotta use it in a defensive scenerio i bet the last thing u'd worry about would be ur hearing loss..lol

  • SUPER loud with this short barrel.

  • @stealthbeast

Doubt it, if that was true you would be deaf if you ever went to an NHRA top fuel drag race. Now that is loud.

  • It is extremely loud, and the concussion is intense. I do not reccoment shooting ANY firearm without hearing protection except in extremely exigent circumstances.

  • are you talking about how loud all guns are or just this one

  • you people that think you are tatical/military shooters. do you guys see this on TV and thought it was cool. you people make up so stupit scenarios.

  • No. I"KNOW" I'm a tactical shooter and not a ghetto gang bangin monkey......

  • 3 targets/multiple shots in multiple shot locations in 8 seconds with very little muzzle rise. Not bad.

  • that takes no markmenship at all. a 8 year old could hit a target from b feet away

  • That's not paintballin pussy.......it's called tactical shooting!

  • oh soo it's tactical when you are standing 5 feet away?

why not set up mutiply targets,

  • oh and if you think because i play paintballing i don't know shit about guns, your wrong. I was taught to shoot at the age 0f 8

  • Not in the UK mate.Wait a couple of years and join the Royal Marines....do their CQB course and you'll see........

  • i have been shooting since the age of 8, at 8 i was taught to shoot with .22 rifles. Then at the age 0f 10 i learnt to use shotguns. and having relatives in america i have fired mutiplyhandguns. My dad works in Special Ops, so he taught me how to handle guns.

  • Well good for you so what's the problem with the point shooting in this video?

  • it becasue the guy is standing less than 5 feet away.

  • It's called POINT shooting. Both eyes open. The weapon is a close quarter weapon.

  • yeah not that close

  • The purpose of the Center Axis Relock technique demonstrated in the video is to neutralize threats at very short distances. Less than two to five yards. Paul Castle developed the CAR system when he realized that police officers were getting killed for silly reasons, like having their gun taken away from them in close quarters, or missing with over 80% of their shots while aiming down the sights at a nearby target. CAR prevents all that by making the firearm a natural extension of the body.

  • Couldn't have said it beter myself, Spartan! (And FYI, my callsign for this Afghanistan deployment I am on right now is SPARTAN 4)

    Bryn

  • Is this pistol only able to shoot the 55gr.? Is the 65gr. too much for it?

  • No, I've shot 65+ through it with no issues.

  • kinda close

  • Sick!

  • I'll take that as a compliment anyday!

    Thanks,

    Bryn

  • you nailed him!

  • Think I got him? LOL!

  • @IPDSystems

    that aint .223

  • @bigranger16 yes it is... and how the fuck do you know? u there with him?

  • @robietrav

i guess he just has good recoil control

  • @bigranger16 it ain 5.56, and with a good surpresser at the end the 2.23 is rather managable...kel tek designed a costum one to fit this specific pistol and it reall makes a difference. whether he has that on here or not i dont know... i assume so. but i do know...thats no .22

  • It is a .223 and has no can on it.

  • I think he's dead........ anyways, this is probably illegal in California, well the mag at least is, I know that much

    good shooting by the way.

  • Think I got 'em!?

Thanks, and isn't almost anything gun-related illegal in CA???

  • you mean commiefornia, basically all the cool stuff is illegal......

  • Yes, it is (but the LAPD and LA County SO teams still get a lot of work, don't they?) Must be criminals care about violating the gun laws,,,,,

    Bryn

  • agreed, every time they pass a new law, it only effects responsible citizens, they are called criminals for a reason, in the future and possible my lifetime they will destroy the second amendment, or make it so hard to get a fire arm of any type that there would be no damn point to the second amendment. I value what fire arms I do have despite being hated (a pot load of a smith wessons, a 12 gauge and few other .22's)

  • @BEARaCOODA unless you think illegal aliens are cool.

  • what is the barrel's life on rounds? Is it about 5'000rds? any one have an idea for the plr-16

  • I really don't know. I guess i have about 2-3K through it so far with no issues.

  • Just so you know, it is illegal to put a vertical grip on a pistol unless you register it as an AOW. I guess if you are some type of law enforcement, you might get away with it.

  • That is correct.

  • Is the Handguard legal?

I've been told they aren't but have not checked with the ATF yet.

  • yes they are just al long as you dont have a vertical grip

  • @skybari it must be legal. it comes from the factory like that.

  • @migkillertwo I know for a fact that in Connecticut, if a pistol has a guard over the barrel that would prevent the "off hand" from griping it without getting burned, it is illegal without the proper tax stamp. Check the local and state laws.

  • It must not be regulated by federal law then.

  • Is that the .223 or the 22 version...plus you could back up a bit from the targets maybe.

  • The .223 version. I can back up a LOT and still use the C.A.R. System, but I wanted to get both the weapon and targets in the shot, and show the recoil-reducing effect of the system. Thanks!

    Bryn

  • Hows the kel tec treatin ya?! Im planning to get a su16c!!! Nice shooting BTW!!!

  • I actually like it quite a bit for the price. I have had no failures to feed or fire. I am likeing this more and more for certain applications. I got it as a "toy" but now see some true use.

    Bryn

  • Thanks! Yes, prob. about 1/2 that rate of fire if using ISO-Weaver instead of C.A.R. Actually, the KEL-TEC PLR-16 does not have a stcok; it is a pistol configuration. I appreciate the comment!

    Bryn

  • any chance of you showing a SIG 556 pistol ?

  • If I had one, I would! It would look the same, though.

    Bryn

  • no i hear ya im just wondering how much of a difference it might be since the SIG is a little different. in anycase nice videos sir

  • HOLY CRAP BRYN, .223 and not from using the attachable shoulder stock..what would the firing rate be if u used modISO or weaver? Half. Too fast to count the number of shots,5/5
