@AgamemnonPadar Basie seemed to find big band drummers. Some big bands use drummers who just don't give the band that impetuous, especially for the final crescendo. First time I saw Basie at the Festival Hall with Sony Payne - only Butch Miles has come close to Sony RIP

and that's that の動画に投稿したものですが、やっと念願の'85年新宿厚生年金­会館でのCount Basie Orchesra コンサート動画を見る事ができました。アップしてくれた方に御礼­申し上げます。とても懐かしく、また素晴らしい演奏、ドライブ感­に圧倒されながら見させていただきました。Basie が亡くなった次の年、遺志を継ぎリーダーととなったThad Jones の個性的な指揮、Kenny HingのTenor Sax SoloとDennis Mackarel のDrums Solo は圧巻です。リーダーThad Jones の 率いるSwing する Basie Band が私は好きです。Thad Jones がこの後1年余りで他界するとは。
