  • Hi there, I just had the first procedure done in the rroot canal. So what they did is use that metal piece to clean the nerve or infact maybe killed the nerve as well as having temporary fillling, however i stil feel the pain on that tooth and i dont have the other appointment till 4 more days. Is this normal ( can some one with experience or knows what they saying comment on this please) It really does hurt.

  • F**king teeth eating bacteria.

  • so if i get a sudden sting that hurts like hell when i chew on the area i do need a root canal?

  • Teeth are living organs, not inert, and they can't be sterilised. Therefore root canal makes no sense - it's like keeping a dead toe on your foot.

  • @mostmusicisbad the root canal therapy is to clean and sterilize the canal space, and fill it with a material so the canal space will not allow any more bacterial invasion. two main points to a root canal therapy: 1. clean the canal space, 2. fill it well.

The tooth is not "alive" as it has no more nerve or blood supply. But the majority of tooth is hard structure, allowing it to continue to chew.

RC is to let you hold on to tooth for as long as possible, but not guaranteed to outlast you.

  • My nerves have been damaged for over 3 years now. I can't chew on my left side because it is so sensative. All my food gets stuck in my tooth as well. I need free dental!

  • I'm having 2 root canals finished in 2 days time, i've already had the drilling done - didn't feel a thing. easy - no more tooth ache.

  • I have to get one done tomorrow. :( not looking forward to that drill/ :(

  • A root canal can be confirmed from an xray......

  • This is bullshit, Just another reason for ANY dentist to fuck you outta your insurance money. 1 filling cost much less then a root canal. And if you do need a RC, thats cause the douche bag dentist originally drilled so much of that tooth out theres nothing left to fill anymore.

  • Exactly inkey2, I'm 35 and just had a root canal done. It didnt hurt much at all. I'm doing fine now, my dr wants me though to get a crown on the tooth as soon as I can in the next few days.

  • i have a root canal tomorrow and i aslo need a wisdom tooth removal on the same side as the root canal tooth so i dont know which one is causing the pain is there a way to tell?

  • a month ago i impacted my two front teeth and on the first week they hurt when i touched them, now about a month later they dont hurt at all, my doctor recommended a root canal, and i said my teeth doesen't hurt, it wasnt even infected it was just kinda loose, root canal is like every dentists first priority when it comes to loose teeth they dont even test for a differint procedure like putting a splint on the tooth or something like thay, so that day he didnt do a root canal fixed my cavities

  • I just found out today that i need a root canal!

and you just explained exactly what i have been going through pain wise!

    :)

  • This DID hurt...before 2001 when several new technologies and procedures were introduced.

  • It doesnt hurt it is just very uncomfortable

  • I've had quite a few root canals done even though my teeth didn't hurt that much.

The dentist just asked if this teeth hurts...i said no and they still did a root canal :(

  • why did they do the rootcanal did they tell you why. DO you have any health problems after the rootcanal because rootcanals are very bad for your immune system and with out your immune system . your body will have alot of health problems. I just found out about 1 month ago about the dangers about rootcanals so I am going to have to get it removed and put a bridge on it. I might just sue my dentist to for not telling me the side affects. well just telling you the truth about root canals.

  • I had a cavity. And they told me that the cavity went so deep down they had to do a root canal.

  • to: nismo2585: CALM DOWN.....the vast majority of people who have root canal work come out fine. I have needed 12 root canals in my life.....so you think I should have had all my teeth pulled instead....LOL? I know where you got this "paranoia" from. That bald headed, nut job, ex-hippy doctor on youtube. DO NOT have that tooth removed. There is no reason to and the bridge will cost you a fortune. People have been getting root canal work for "years"....IT's SAFE

  • I had 3 root canals 25 years ago, and 1 recently. I don't get vaccine's and I've only been sick 3 times in my life. So I guess it hasnt affected my immune system.

  • @yootubeinmybutt a friend of mine got shot 5 times and didn't die,so i guess getting shot 5 times doesn't kill you...

you do realize that a personal experience doesn't mean anything in medicine?studies and statistics with thousands of people are done for a reason

  • i had 3 on the front of my teeth and they did something to my gums(cut int it to remove the infection when the medicine couldent) and my whole face was swelled up and i looked like a monster for like 2 weeks and i have alot of pictures. it was so painful that when i forgot take the pain kill every 6 hours (you take it an hour before the actual time)i had passed out to the pain till the pain killers had kicked in,the worse feeling in the world is passing out, you get all cold and everything soyeh

  • I am 54 years old and have had about 30,000 bucks worth of dental work in my lifetime so I know what I am talking about. Having "anything" done on the front teeth is very painful....even if you have the best dentist on the planet.

  • i have had this !!!!! kills!!!!!!
