Rory had what most musicians strive for there whole life that was the respect and admiration from his fans and colleages don't really think he gave a shit bout rok and roll hall of fame or any of that garbage
@CDelannois Rory Gallagher was the finest blues rock guitarist on his generation. i can never understand how guitarists like The Edge can get in to "Top guitarist" lists, and rory gets nowhere.
'Rory Gallagher', (and another great).. 'Mike Oldfield', we're both left out of The Rolling Stones Mag's...top 100 guitarists of all time list. Go figure.!!
Each song was played if it would be the last ! Can you imagine the sheer energy and the raw power of Rory and his band ?? NO you can't if you never saw this man live... He was and still is my inspiration as a guitarist and singer...I will walk in his shadow forever...
@wgbdo I saw Rory once, front row, touch the mic stand close. He opened for Kansas, and I think my seven mates and I were the only Rory fans in attendence, at the start of the show. He burst into Take What I Want, the eight of us went nuts and by the end of the song, the other 3000 were in the Rory groove. The more we loved it, the more he loved it, he fed off our energy and us from his. It peaked with an encore of Bullfrog Blues, head bobbed with Rory. Kansas never played. Nobody cared.
Want to support Rory Gallager? Put him in your "top guitarists lists", recommend the best clips on facebook, blog about him! Do what you can so Rory Gallager, maybe one day, get the attention he deserves! My friends would probably think he was one of the Oasis (Liam and Noel Gallagher) brothers! And no, that's not a joke! Now, go support Rory Gallagher :)
where's the strat?!? never seen him without it before! probably the most underrated guitarist ever though, definitely the finest heavy rock/blues player in my opinion, great sound and his solos were inventive and melodic rather than blindly noodling away like so many players in this genre do
I meet him first, in 1969, the star club in Hamburg, the impression, a mighty, earthquake, I never saw a guitars player, like him, again, Eric Clapton, forget it,
Rory, was the real god, for blues and rock guitar, the example, for Brain May (Queen) Gary Moore, Raul Rogers, and others, a simple Vox AC 30 amplifiers, a Stratocaster, a rangemaster booster, that, was all, he no need, big plexi marchall stags, but, the sound, the best, I ever hear,
unfortunately, Rory, never, the recognition, appreciation and respect, in his live, hey played with blues, from emotion, not for the money, Rory, on stage what 1000% pure blues and rock energy, in the all time guitars hero list, the top 100, you do not find him, it is really to be ashamed, that Rory lost the, attention Rory is my all time favorit guitars hero, Rory for ever,

started out as a good boogie tune. but yah know the 80's, it was not fashionable to do a guitar solo. too mad the mtv gen never got to hear the great rory guitar player there in deutsche landdddddddddddddd.......
by dah way, thats a chuck berry tune, yes indeed it it isssssssssss........
He did use that LP Jr style guitar a bit in this era.
It isn't completely rare to see him without a strat or tele, he frequently used a Gretsch for Bullfrog Blues, I've seen him with a Mustang before and he used a Danelectro for many recordings.
looks like a Les Paul Jr. which is very strange. He probably only used it for one tune. Never seen him without a strat or tele unless he was playing acoustically.

Rory never got the recognition he served. You could change this.
There are so many vids, where you could tell the truth:
Rory Gallagher is the best Live-Blues guitarplayer.
Everybody who have seen him live can confirm this fact.

La gratte de Rory n'est pas une LP junior ou autre mais bien une Melody Maker (le singlecoil est remplacé par un humbucker, pour les puristes).
For Ever The best ......
