Chemical weapons were seized by coalition forces in August of 2005. I speculate that the reason that Saddam didn't utilize them in 2003 is because the chemical weapons' delivery systems were destroyed in target air and ground strikes in 2003. Not to mention that most of the processing plants that took the chemicals and weaponized them were also destroyed in the initial invasion.

Saddam had used chemical weapons in the past, which proved that he had both the kit and the capability to carry out chemical attacks. Take the Halabja poison gas attacks of 1988 as an example.

The term war criminal is a specific legal term, and since the UK has a mandate from the UN to be in Afghanistan and since the british parliament, which is the democratic will of the people, has agreed to the war, it is not illegal.
In fact, I would suggest that terrorists who deliberately target and blow up children without warning are war criminals, as you well know.

Try actually talking to someone who lives in Iraq right now. The dude I talked to was very optimistic about Iraq's future (particularly on how well the ISF doing on their own).
It was confirmed that chemical weapons were found in Iraq. I've PM'ed the Washington Post link to you. Though the specifics weren't released, a guy I talked to in the 1st SFG said that the word is that it was VX that they found.
I just said that I'm highly critical of the Karzai regime in Afghanistan, and the elections.

The reason why it was a bad idea for Iraq to have chemical WMDs is because they used them on civilians, as well as distributed them to terrorist organizations (please view the Washington Post link I sent you. The article does confirm the finding of chemical weapons.)
The guy I talked to, a Sergeant in the 1st Special Forces group, worked closely with CIA SOG. He had a fairly good grasp of what was going around the IC grapevine.

The Iraqi I was referring to said to me, early after the invasion "We used to live with a lot of death, and a lot of fear. We still face a lot of death and fear, but now we have some hope".
As of November 2009, violence in Iraq has reached an all time low. As I understand it, the ISF is becoming more and more capable by the day. US troops are out of Baghdad, and peace is kept by the ISF.
The elections are widely believed to be fair, according to the WSJ. I'll send you a link to their article.

Give it 50 years - that is when we will be able to see with certainty whether Iraq has been a success or not. At the moment we're too close to the process.
In terms of WMD, every intelligence agency in the country accepted or believed Saddam had these, so it was a reasonable presumption for the UK/US govts to believe it too. Being wrong doesn't mean they lied. As I say, give it time to see objectively

But they were not used, ever, against the US/UK forces, even when Saddam and his henchmen were on their knees and fighting for their lives, so what does this tell you?

Chemical weapons were seized by coalition forces in August of 2005. I speculate that the reason that Saddam didn't utilize them in 2003 is because the chemical weapons' delivery systems were destroyed in target air and ground strikes in 2003. Not to mention that most of the processing plants that took the chemicals and weaponized them were also destroyed in the initial invasion.

Saddam had used chemical weapons in the past, which proved that he had both the kit and the capability to carry out chemical attacks. Take the Halabja poison gas attacks of 1988 as an example.
The proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

The fact he used weapons 10 or 15 years before the war and before sanctions were brought on him to destroy the weapons does not prove that he had them in 2003 etc. As i said, if he had them he would have used them when facing total destruction because he would have nothing to lose. if he had weapons but they were not usable then they were not a threat and so not live.
The proofin the pudding is he didn't use them

No, the reason that Saddam didn't use chemical weapons against the Americans during the Iraq war is the same reason that he didn't use them in the Gulf War: Since the first Gulf conflict, the United States has had the standing policy that should Saddam use chemical weapons against U.S. Forces, the U.S. would respond with a nuclear strike on Iraq. This policy was made well known to Saddam, and served as a successful deterrent against the Iraqi use chemical weapons.
