  • LOL "too evil to die" describes my immortal, evil children's python so well! I ended up with the beast when the store I worked at went out of business. He was too bitey to sell! We even sold the vicious Macklot's! I took him home and still have him 8 yrs later and he still pings his nasty little nose off the glass whenever I walk by.

  • oh a Gaboon viper

  • wwwwoooot!!! I love the Hagens Viper (hope I spelled it right) I had to laugh when you went Rrroaaaar! Beautiful as ever Viperkeeper. I'm thrilled to find vids that I haven't seen yet. :D

  • I always must laugh when the video went into slow motion. i really like your videos ! Im not familiar with snakes but i had some birdeaters and scorpions. Nice animals you havet here. Keep up the interesting work ! ;)

  • best part was when it went in slow mo

  • 3.41 almost hit

  • I am starting to believe that the short "Sniffs" of Rhino Vipers is territorial...

To my research, the Sniffling action is infact a hiss...saying "This is my house, Get out" - Head bobbing is still unusual...I have came up with this theaory due to everytime your in the snake room, he comes to the glass...So Mr. Sniffles was a very territorial little one if this is the case.

The other Rhino vipers Sniff also...which backs up my theory...

    Any further comments Al?

  • Do you know of any zoos that keep wagler's pit vipers and fea's vipers?

  • Riverbank Zoo (SC) Has Fea's...don't know if they are on exhibit. They're very sensitive to interaction.

    Many have Wag's :

    Ft. Worth, TX

Catoctin Zoo & Wildlife Park (MD)

Off the top of my head

  • I have been looking for waglers pit vipers on display for a while but all of the zoos have had them off display for some reason or another.

    Thanks for responding!

  • I'm curious....That Eastern Brown Snake (Common Brown, as it's also known as) is native to Australia....Australia don't allow the importation of their reptiles due to them being endangered. - How did you manage to get this snake?

  • 1) I can usually obtain (legally) most species I want to keep.

    2) These are also found in PNG/Indonesia

  • Ohh really? I didn't know they were found in PNG

  • hey al i have a suggestion you should try making more unpacking vids cause it is very cool to watch

  • I have to import to do that...I'm not importing because of the economy

  • You should make this into a segment... its kinna cool.

  • Have you being bit?

  • do u no enything on false water cobras

  • No, I don't keep them.

  • At the end bit, was that a white tail lancehead? I am a new fan of those. Well grat vid

  • Whitetail lancehead

    Bothrops leucurus

  • Wow, your new pits took no prisoners! It might be because I just finished reading it, but I couldn't help thinking of Kehaar from Watership Down when watching that mangrove pit. "Welcome to America!" "Piss off!"

  • I've seen in several of your videos that you get in shipments or have other snakes temporarily. I was just wondering if you quarentine them at all?

  • The specimens I plan to keep get quarentined for 3 months till stools are negative and are not looking/acting sick. All others are quarentined till they are out of my facility on their way to their new homes. Many of my animals end up at Zoo's or other proffessional institutions where they get quarentined again and a whole battery of tests or which I am told of any problems found.

  • To evil to die >:D - Loving the "Puff Adder"!

  • like christmas morning......I love unpacking new shipments. what a rush.

  • people need to upload more clips like this. I prefer funnier stuff myself, check out dolphinhump. lostfrog . com , I laughed so hard I got kicked out of class! haha.

  • He's one of two under my care.

  • Why is the hagan's viper all wet.

  • I sprayed it down because it's a tropical snakes

  • VK - I've been watching your videos for a while now, and in general, they tend to be very good. The only thing that bugs me (but man, it bugs me!) is how you don't disable the sound when you do slowmotion replays. Hearing a voice slowed down that far with the inherent distortions that come from slowing it down is just... really grating. Keep up the good vids, but do you think you could cut out the sound on the slowmos from now on?

  • Yeah... I will look into it..bugs me too.

  • Thank you, sir. Keep up the good work!

  • I love the video and all the new arrival, but especially the little bothrops all bothrops seem to have awesome color schemes.

  • Ok..thanks again.

  • Thanks for the info on the cages! Now, I have heard that Vision cages don't hold humidity well and will eventually warp. Do you know if that is true?

  • Visions hold humidity very well. I have most of my tropical snakes in them. They need to be checked for warp before you accept them. They don't warp if you don't load too much weight on them.

  • That's a lot of beautiful animals. How many feeder rats do you go through a week?

  • I'm not sure but $1000 to feed them all for a year

  • what type of bedding do you use? why nto newspaper or paper towels?

  • Hey, I got another question for you Al. I see in your vids that you use a number of different cages. I was just wondering if you could briefly exaplain which brand of cages you like the best and why.

    Thanks

  • I use a few different types of cages: Vision 400, 211 & 221. Nice cages of the "molded" construction type. Nice sliding glass, easy to clean and secure. Downside there is a place over & under the door for snake to hide and get ya.

  • Herpcages dot com (Barr) just fantastic cages and the people who make them are also nice. Can't do any better for aboreal snakes. Precision cages very nice for desert snakes, complete full opening from door. Downside the snakes can zoom out in your face it your not careful.

  • but easten brown are from au and mulgas how much do mulgas go for

  • They are from Indonesia & PNG. They are NOT from Australia.

  • ok

  • Aus has the eastern brown too (I didn't know they were present in indonesia and PNG)

  • since mulgas are native to Australia I doubt you can get them.

  • Whoa whoa...what about mister thingy?! Hahah...

Gorgeous animals, I love your gabby.

  • It's just a squirt bottle I got at the "Dollar Store"

  • Beautiful critters, Al. As usual, thanks a bunch for sharing!

  • A little too much action in this one, I think. O_o I know I wouldn't be brave enough to face that kind of thing.

A question I've been meaning to ask, which this video reminded me: you mention in your other videos that you don't want to overwater your snakes. That being said, what is the proper, average dosage of water for a snake?

  • Most of the time they will drink only what they need if they are watered on a schedule. Overwatering occurs when they have not had a drink for an extended period of time. Dehydrated snakes that arrive in a shipment get Pedialyte at first so they don't go into shock from overhydrating. That balanced solution also adds electrolytes that are needed. I never let a dehydrated snake drink more that 5% of it's body weight at one time.

  • how much do aussie hots go for i want to know the price for a mulga

  • Aussy Hots are not available on the market.

  • amazing video

"they're just too evil to die"

that cracked me up i swear to goodness that was hilarious

another amazing vid, with even more amazing snakes!!

keep up the good work Al

  • Holy Heck, whick idiot labled the textilis as a rat snake, do they not realise that could result in deaths? i ahve done a bit of import work, for a company, and we had some kind of tree viper come through (Trimersurus species) as a tree python. (i didnt deal with that package). it is scarey to think, that had that been going to another person, that could have ended up as a childs pet, handled like a corn snake. the possible repercussions are hard to even think about...

  • Easy...Yes, that could have been a serious mistake but as it turns out it wasn't. I was expecting the Textilis, so I was on the look-out for it.

  • What do u do with those hots?

  • I breed some of the species, they are mostly specimens in my private zoo.

  • One time I ordered a striped California King snake, and it was labeled as a Eastern Garter snake on my package.

  • snapey little thing

  • Cool thats gonna be awesome!

  • Al I was wondering if you would be able to make T-shirts with Sniffles or Gabby feeding maybe? I would love to have my Mr.Sniffles Gym Shirt lol!

  • Yes, I'm working on that....

  • NM on that last comment about the eastern brown. I don't know what i was thinking. Alias "common" brown.

  • Eastern Brown? Is that another name for the King Brown? I love aussie snakes. I've bred my share of carpet and Diamond pythons. My all time favorite boids are GTPs and Womas. Just a thought, do you have any Austrelaps superbus? Thats a beautiful animal when you can see them up close.

  • Pseudonaja textilis—Common Brown Snake, Eastern Brown

    Pseudechis australis—King Brown, Mulga snake

  • no and the corcent name for a king brown is a mulga

  • well in Aus we don't call kings browns mulga's, we call mulga's mulgas and king browns king browns.

  • love the those pit vipers! :P

  • nice vid as always Al
