These have been around forever. I get a kick out of the WIAA sign, at first I thought it was Wisconsin. As far as original, perhaps your school did it first in your area, but I saw the first dancing sacks in Wisconsin in the very early 80's.

Brainerd high school did a dance in 1989 with the silly sacks and won the prop/novelty competition with it. This may be "cool" to other states but from what I have seen on the net, MN is the best state for HS dance teams. They now only compete high kick and jazz
