  • Beautiful !!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for sharing this Wonderful performance of Great Russian composer, pianist, and conductor SERGEI RACHMANINOFF(1873-1943).

  • Wonderfully haunting music. Many thanks for posting.

  • Rachmaninoff (most likely) loved the clarinet and wrote us the BEST parts.

  • Sigh...

  • King of flow and rubato. Love in every note. Rach reigns forever. Unbeliaveble.

  • Vishnevskaya / Rostropovich: Vocalise (Вокализ), 1976:

    Thanks and regards

  • I don't think the sound of this recording is so bad; in fact, this is the clearest I've heard Daniel Bonade's clarinet solo at the end. Anyways, it's easy to throw out the baby with the bath water when trying to 'improve' sound.

  • It's real weird to hear this with a full orchestra after playing it in a strings only orchestra.

    Love it nonetheless <3

  • i love the music which composed by Rachmaninoff.

This is an important basis to interpret the piece.

    Thanks for your sharing^^

  • is this out on a cd?

  • @beeteep60 Both on Arkivmusic and Amazon, and I'm sure elsewhere. I got on a since unavailable very inexpensive 10 CD set of complete Rachmaninov recordings, still available but more than I'd pay.

  • Thank you, but the sound unfortunately is not very good. Perhaps it can be improved.

  • i think it's the problem with the audio recording in those days. it has the sound quality of audio recordings made in that era.

  • thank you for your info. however, we love it! many thanks for posting! it is always wonderful if somebody wants to share her/his emotions with the rest of the world!! Thank you to all of you!!

  • @cutefidgety Sound quality of early electric recordings vary from shockingly clear to almost unlistenable. The majority are very good to fair. This is the low end of fair. Of course the interpretation and playing are unsurpassed.

  • Sure this is the orchestral version ever. Thanks a lot.

  • Thank you!

I think every singer shoukd hear it before learning this vocalise.

  • Definitely!
