  • Fook me, took out the album 'New boots', to have a play for the first time In an age, and It brought me Immense joy and a deathly sadness listening to an album of pure classics from first track to last, Joy and the sheer brilliance of Ian Dury, and utter depression that he Is no longer with us to give us such great Music!RIP.

    Thank you for posting.

  • The Blockheads are still rocking and have put out one excellent album since Ian left the stage, they are constantly touring and are better than ever live, they also have a new album coming out in April so check it out and catch them live. You know it makes sense.

  • no band ever got the groove going so unsuspecting and so full on, and on, and on!! Chas a master of the fully funked guitar understatement.

Knock me darn wiv a fevva!

  • That mutha and rip, that's fo sho! Excellent stuff

  • Take care brother and oi oi !

  • Absolutely, definitely, totally, for ever and ever more, the finest performer and band to tread this poor planet. In such a shitty reality as ours, nothing this good could last for the length we all would need it to. Only in heaven , I presume. Here's hoping we meet again.

  • Ian sometimes puts me in mind of a white Ray Charles.

That band behind Ian is sensational!

    Thanks for that one!

  • x cellant all ian and the blockheads are the best and will never ever ever ever trever be the same without him

  • I THINK HE STARTED RAPP

  • GEEENIOUS

  • I remember lifting our cheap speakers onto our window ledge in our crummy bedsit in Southsea in1978 and blasting out Plaistow Patricia very annoying to all but we were only inour twenties then great song smith with tales about everyday people

  • Still can't get over how good this is.

  • Mr Dury and the blockheads are all tops in my book, a great song and many thanks for putting it on the tube.

  • out of trevor,he and his blockeds have been such an inspiration since I heard´em for the first time in 78 on the juke-box in italy.great, thanx for posting

  • This is by far my favourite song at the moment. Every five minutes I keep shouting 'knock me down with a feather!' It's annoying quite a few of my mates. Thanks for the vid.

  • My pleasure.

  • Je t'adore, c'est fantastique! What a funk groove!

  • Both the previous 2 comments are entirely correct

  • That jam was smokin'!

  • Hello Turkeypants, did you know him in the early/mid 70s?

  • No sorry didn,t know Ian ,they wouldn,t of let me in anyway as I was only about 10 :-)

  • there are some advantages to being my age, ie seeing Ian Drury (Kilburn and the High Roads), the Tourists etc etc for free at the Nashville. I remember him in torn tartan trousers and leather with safety pins everywhere. He was amazing live in the early days.

  • I was wondering if anyone has tha acoustic version of Hit Me i saw on To the Pops 2 around 99 / 2000 ??

excellent. I saw Ian Dury and the blockheads at Luton around this time . cracking show.He sadly pass3ed awwy soon after. I have seen th Blockheads since a few times and they are still great musicians and all that.

  • Btw, have u got this full gig then mate?

  • Top - must tell me brother. They were a great backing band though... saw him at the forum about a year before he passed on. Still had it...

  • You know the score.

  • Cheers again mate! ..keep these comin if u can , is the best thing ever too see as much Ian and The Blocks as possible.
