WoW took ideas from EQ and Dark Age of Camelot for the most part. Rift, Aeon, Warhammer and so many others have taken ideas from WoW... Stop crying and pick one.
I have to say this game is great in alot of ways. Although playing the pvp from the start has gotten me very annoyed. (As a mage) It basically consists of this: follow your team, do the objective, see an enemy (always a warrior or rogue in this game), get killed because all they do is run circles around you. yay fun. I don't move with my keyboard but I'm pretty laggy and slow. I can't move 3 feet before I die by some warrior or rogue. And literally all they do is run circles around you. Garbage.
I'm not playing any mmo now, but if I would recoment a game, would be rift, and they're seeling the game way cheaper than wow, so it worth at leat give a shot on free trial.
Wow is just tiring, there's nothing new, and when they add new stuff in every new patch brings more of the same with different skin since WotLK. RIFT have a lot of featurings to discover and the rifts are pretty damn fine.
But, wow addicts will mimimi bla bla bla and say it isn't true like WoW was the first and only MMO ever. But they are addicted as any other drug and just can't see it. I know, I was one of them for 4 years straight.

This is a bit hard to explain..don't get me wrong the content and what this game has to offer is pretty good.. but there's something about the character that makes this a bit cheezy.. as if it's like putting the features of a Runescape character into Guild Wars... it just makes it cheezy.. the guys aren't realistic. Their movements are too robotic which makes it a bit plain. Either that or they need to zoom in and show the reaction of the characters fighting and delay time of a hit and whatnot.
@wowcraftboy It's $15 if you pay per month. I found a site online.. which I'll be happy to give you.. and got the game.. and 3 months of game time for $50. I think that's a good starting package. Course this past week you could get the game for $5.. and $10 if you bought a month. I don't think would find a better deal than that.

The thing about rift that gets me is that they took WoW and changed the graphics and changed a few things and called it something else. Originality is something I like. I want to feel like im playing the game im playing instead of playing a game just like another one.

Played WoW religiously for a while at least until Wotlk then turned more casual. I only played it for the PvP but since then the balance and obvious ignorance of it becomes more and more apparent with each patch. Canceled my account finally and am looking for something different. It all comes down to the PvP and the competitive atmosphere of the game. I'm not much into the raiding or monster killing element although it's nice to partake in that sometimes. I'm on the fence with buying it.

I've been playing wow for 5years now.. more, even.. This game looks awesome, honestly.. Going to try it out with a few mates, but what i`m wondering is.. Are Defiants and Guardians evenly populated? The problem with dual factions is that people tend to play ONE faction.. WAR sounded quite promising, too, but i didn't try it out because Chaos was overpopulated.. i play City of Heroes right now. i like the game because its easy to get into and is fun. i love the game for many reasons but i will admit there is a lot of things that are wrong with it. is rift easy to get into? and is it worth it?

1) MMOs that try to be different from WoW - These MMOs usually fail miserably by trying to implement new fighting style systems that ultimately lead to imbalances and tend to have many glitches. In other words, they blow balls.
2) MMOs that try to be exactly like WoW (such as Rift) - Why play a game that tries to imitate another game when you can play the real thing?
I've been playing Darkfall over a year now. There's nothing even remotely close to topping it. It's my game until they make another full loot, full pvp that beats it. That's hard to see anytime soon though, considering the new developments taking place.

I've been playing wow for 5years now.. more, even.. This game looks awesome, honestly.. Going to try it out with a few mates, but what i`m wondering is.. Are Defiants and Guardians evenly populated? The problem with dual factions is that people tend to play ONE faction.. WAR sounded quite promising, too, but i didn't try it out because Chaos was overpopulated.. So if someone could give me some feedback on the population, that'd be awesome, thanks =)

i play City of Heroes right now. i like the game because its easy to get into and is fun. i love the game for many reasons but i will admit there is a lot of things that are wrong with it. is rift easy to get into? and is it worth it?

so why is this game so graphical intense? the only way i can play it is on lowest rednerer thing. its terrible. i even did the canyou run it check the rift site directed me to, and it said i passed the Recommended stage, said mines even over the recommended...its fucked up and im stopping my sub just cuse of that. this game is so amazing but im not sacrificing one of its strengths. that site is wrong or im doing something wrong. plz help because i want to play this game!

this game is fantastic for anyone who also fell in love with many other mmos and found them to be failboats.
its kinda like warhammer pvp battleground wise. stand capture the flag blah blah blah. but its fun as hell blah blah blah.
and with wow storyline to discover and amazing graphics
but wow players will love the pve as it its simaliar all the good stuff they used from all mmo games i find

I'm a 50 warrior. I gotta say it's a lot of fun. Wish there were more 50s though. Guess I'll have to wait a couple more weeks for people to start braving the warfronts more.

Hey guys, ok can we stop trying to compare this to "wow", over half the people that are gunna play it do not care if it is like wow or not. its a new game thats out and is probably gunna be really fun, no one care about "wow clones" or not we care about if it is fun and wow has been around for 6yrs there gunna fall apart sooner or later (i did say later so dont throw your tantrums) kudos to the new game and i can not wait to try it out its fresh and crisp with WAY WAY better looking graphics :)

They should rename this game "Ex-Tards of WoW" that's all it is, a WoW copy and all the retards, noobs and rejects of WoW ran to RIFT with high hopes - soon they will find out they were deceived, all they wanted is your 50 bucks.
This game is for ex-WoW retards who were too lazy to gear up or nerd-raged in vent because we vote kicked them for being stupid, or tried to raid in greens, couldn't play their class, etc. Good Luck Tards, for your "Rift" will certainly fail within one year!

This game suits people who have played Wow for 5 or 6 years (such as me) and like the play style but hate the game now lol don't get me wrong, loved Wow. but now its boring after so many years, this game is nice for me, I like the rift system, the pvp. so its my game for now!
So stop fighting whats better, if you like Wow then GREAT! if your like me and want a game that doesn't say "World of Warcraft" then awesome! haha

No co-ordination at all on your team, but this was in beta, so, I suppose people were still learning their characters in PvP.
Also, if this was a pug group people have not learned fighting habits of other players.

There are two types of MMOs these days:
1) MMOs that try to be different from WoW - These MMOs usually fail miserably by trying to implement new fighting style systems that ultimately lead to imbalances and tend to have many glitches. In other words, they blow balls.
2) MMOs that try to be exactly like WoW (such as Rift) - Why play a game that tries to imitate another game when you can play the real thing?

I've been playing Darkfall over a year now. There's nothing even remotely close to topping it. It's my game until they make another full loot, full pvp that beats it. That's hard to see anytime soon though, considering the new developments taking place.
