I agree with the other 'posters' -- this is a wolf spider. Do some looking around online. Also, you can have reactions to many other spider bites, and any bite (spider or insect) can become infected from bacteria. It's too cold in Michigan for the brown recluse to survive through winter.
this is not a brown recluse. brown recluses don't have ANY marking on their stomach, and this one obviously does. google them! black widows are not big actually, so yeah, learn to identify them before posting something like that.
make it suffer. light a ciggarette and throw it in that cup. all that smoke will make the spider die in a horrible painful way. I got bit by a Wolf spider(that one there) and i made it SUFFER
This is not a Brown Recluse, this is a Wolf Spider. Wolf Spiders are also dangerous to humans though. Brown Recluses have very small almost unnoticeable hair with a "fiddle" looking mark right behind it's eyes. Wolf spiders are the ones with the two stripes and the spot like this one. Also, this looks just a little too big to be a Brown Recluse. Hope this helps.
The best way to tell whether or not you have Brown Recluse spiders is either to hire an entomological expert, or to get glue traps. Glue traps are very effective, and will enable you to bring a live spider to someone who can help identify them. (Glue traps are also helpful in removing the spiders if you have them in or around your house.)
Again, look for the violin shaped mark on top of the 'head' of the spider. That is the best way to tell if it is a Brown Recluse.
This is a wolf spider. They commonly have two dark lines down the cephalothorax, and can have spots or additional lines on the abdomen. Brown recluse spiders have a violin-shaped mark on the 'head', (cephalothorax). The mark is dark brown, on a light tan-to-beige cephalothorax.
Brown Recluse spiders share their range with wolf spiders, and both are often seen wandering around.
That being said, if you are not an expert, treat any brown spider you see as possibly dangerous.
You ain't kidding. Try getting bit by one. I am going to have a nice scar on my arm. I am still feeling ill; I was told by a different doctor I could be feeling sick for a month to six weeks!

That's not a Brown Recluse, but it's likely a Hobo spider which is just as hazardous.
